It's just boggles my mind that we trended away from what could have been a board wide winter storm dream to a legitimate severe storm threat! Like did we really get played by the models and the rug pulled under us THIS hard? This is just gonna sting for a while and it will be remmbered as the biggest L for winters to come

Can’t, I’m at the hospital right now, Grandpa getting surgery for that 90% blocked artery in his throat that stems back to covid-19 and that stroke, I’m gonna be here waiting the whole entire day
Oh jeez, sorry man. Hope he pulls through

It’s crazy how consistent the two themes have been the last few years east of the mountains. Almost every system comes in wetter and you just cannot get cold air.

Love how this thread is mainly just me, fro, lick, and SD messing around and then someone comes in here from the main thread like

Not that it's gonna make anyone in the Carolinas feel any better, even this year against the colder & snowier winters in the late 19th thru the mid 20th century (1895-1955) is basically in the middle of the pack for snowfall over the state w/ the state-wide mean creeping up towards 5" (which was near the 1895-1955 median of 5.8". The difference between the haves and have nots is just a lot larger than it usually is and the mountains have done better than usual. We still have at least 3-4 weeks of legit winter left for most and this total is gonna only increase, thanks likely to the western part of the state.

You are right. I don't feel better at all

More moisture and warmer temps means the big events get bigger, while the marginal ones stop working outside of the mountains.

I've had wintry precip like 6-7 times for a total of 0.2 ?

0.9" of snow in N Harnett Co puts you right at the 25th percentile of winters for 1895-1955. Solidly in the basement but not in the deepest depths of the dungeon.

Woo?!
I guess I'm getting more frustrated by the fact I haven't really had a big event in a really long time. This nickel and dime stuff is old
