I preach doom and gloom to myself but in my heart I am fully on board
I feel you! Fortunately we're not CAE and probably will snow at some point. This pattern has potential. But even in a great pattern most of our threats go poof 3-5 days out. I'll hang out down here and may have you throw me a rope if we get one inside 72 hrs!

Looks like there may actually be a real, albeit improbable, threat in early December. Interesting. It will be nice to get some colder weather regardless. It’s been so warm.
I hope it’s clear , will make for great stargazing weather ! Lake Phelps in North Carolina is looking attractive for a night time visit if possible .

I think everyone is wanting to track something. Its been a very long time since we've had a significant widespread threat. This is a very minimal threat at this moment but its something to watch.

Probably right. ?
Well hey, at least you get some cold ! Brrrr, do what I do and go stargazing ! Drive out somewhere nice and dark . Remember reading about a small town with little light pollution somewhere in central Georgia a couple years back . See what they are on!

Yeah for early December, I'm super happy about below average temps. We'll get the snow later.

Since I am WFH all winter, I guess I can set up shop at my apartment in Durham or at my parents' place in Greensboro depending on where there's going to be more snow in a given storm. Could be a benefit this winter, I guess? LOL.

I wish I could set up shop on Hatteras all winter, they get crazy cool storms during the winter with driving rain, thunder, and heavy winds! Much better than our 40-degree rains.

I need some snow, my man. I haven't seen a nice snowstorm IMBY since Fab Feb 2015 since I lived in Florida for a few years. :(

I actually did see some decent snow last winter when I was skiing up in the mountains, though, but IMBY is always more satisfying.

I brought the snow curse with me!???
It’s currently 36 degrees and precip approaching! Should be here in 2-3 hours! My favorite, warm snow!

Can’t wait till the southeast ridge comes back so we know it’ll suck again Vs getting disappointed by being south of 85

It will probably try to come back again around mid-month as this block begins to retrograde towards Alaska and becomes a -EPO, however if a -NAO begins to develop, the SE US ridge will be squashed.

Could the retrogression go from a -EPO to -WPO ?(Branstator, 87), That longwave pattern resulting from it would become ugly if there’s no blocking

It won’t start snowing ??2399C988-DC84-4DD3-8BB5-7ED6D0140DA0.png
