Finally! Someone admits it. Thank you! The cold isn't coming to the SE. The can we've been kicking down the road has torn all to pieces. There's no can left to kick anymore. A storm absolutely will cut or track wherever else it can go to avoid having to snow on the SE. I don't care if the -NAO block was all the way down to Northern VA, the storm would find some way to cut and go West of it.

Since the numerical models have been so bad the past couple of years, scientists decided to see if they could plug in some sports data to see if the numerical models could predict the champions in various pro and college sports and here are the results:

College Football Champ (EURO) ~ LSU
(GEM) ~ Syracuse
(GFS) ~ Slippery Rock

Super Bowl Champ (EURO) ~ Atlanta
(GEM) ~ Carolina
(GFS) ~ Jets

College Basketball 20-21 (EURO) ~ Kentucky
(GEM) ~ Kansas
(GFS) ~ Vanderbilt

World Series (EURO) ~ St. Louis
(GEM) ~ Cubs
(GFS) ~ Raleigh Durham Bulls

You know it's ironic that it started that way(snow in mid November earliest I had ever seen) and then the end of that winter was among the best snow stretches I had ever seen

Then it was a long 5 years of nothing

Maybe things are coming full circle lol

The real irony is I'm supposed to go back to Tulsa next Tuesday and looking at some of these models I don't know if that's going to happen ?

I'm depressed cause you said this winter sucks because the Panthers suck and now I think there's a strong correlation, and I'm not hopeful for the team next year, which means this winter and next winter will be terrible, and maybe even the year after that.
 
We'll see what happens over the next ten days but man it's going to be really disappointing if all we have at the end of it is a bunch of cold rain and a glaze of ice. It just seems like we have had the rug pulled out repeatedly this year. "So close yet so far away" sums up this winter as much as any I can remember.

All the fantasy we get is ZR and we know it doesn’t ZR here anymore. If this was the 80s we’d have had four major ice storms already this year.

I haven't even seen precipitation fall from the sky below freezing since 2018. I wonder how long we can legitimately go without that happening or having a low in the teens. A winter like 2017-18 feels like a distant memory now. We can't even have ice accrual if it's above freezing! 33-38 degree rain is the safest bet for next week for RDU.
