This is just unbelievable. I mean there is a legitimate cause for complain about what's going on here! An arctic high and boundary that strong can't even clear the SE?! And we just get marginal tempts? And by the time it does clear we wasted all this time? This is insanity! I'm genuinely in disbelief how cold air that strong can just sit there and marginalize. It's like cold and snow are allergic to the Southeast. Nature LITERALLY finds every possible way to screw things up. I think most of us are just about done and want spring already.

I want hurricane season. At least there is something to really track. Looks like the super duper whooper cold wont get to NC till march/apr when it doesnt matter.

So, we’re canceling winter- AGAIN? This is pretty much the 3rd time in less than week where everyone is lining up to dive off that cliff. It’s Tuesday. We still have almost 7 days to go. Can we all just chill? Modeling has been godawful all damn winter. It completely missed GSP’s 4 inch snow last week. At the very last minute, mind you. I get we all want to see some form of winter Wx. But to completely just give up right now is borderline asinine. If on Friday or even Saturday models are still showing the SER and the TPV to our west- then yeah, we can probably stick a fork in this one. But with all that snow pack to our north right now, I just don’t buy this winter canceled scenario right now.

Atlanta's winter has been cancelled for weeks and it's absolutely the correct call. Tropical forcing will not allow the cold to slide east and no amount of wedging will bring cold air to Atlanta. We are done, because it's mid-February, and the foreseeable future shows no sign of change.

Also, March is absolutely a non-winter month in Atlanta these days.

I've seen this pattern play out so many times in my life. The cold will not make it over the lower Appalachians. Ignore any model that shows it.

The cold is gonna get old if it doesn't snow believe me ? I don't even have a 40 in my forecast

Imagine if you do get snow though(it's looking more and more likely)....the snow is gonna be on the ground forever....cold temps and dry, high ratio snow and you're basically living in the north for a week. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Im fairly optimistic it's just the main event looks to be day 6 which concerns me we definitely are gonna have the cold though no doubt

We had best get winter precip before too much longer. Global warming will take us out of play in a few years. Some of us have already seen our last big snowfall we will ever see. Storms like 1988, 1993, 2000, and 2004 are a thing of the past already.

Would you look at that, little convergence zone, if it was a summer day without a cap this would have been storms C0EFABDE-1D81-4D82-8220-B86DA3F1A862.jpeg

Yeah I officially give up for this winter(and maybe next winter as well)? First the Models backed off on the severe cold for people east of Alabama ,and now the model have the PV dissolving (which means more of a SE ridge),we won't even get a decent sleet/Ice event now. Congratulations Dallas, San Antonio, Jackson, Memphis, and possibly even New Orleans. Southeast Texas(who have a worse climate for snow/sleet than even Southeast Georgia) might get there second winter storm in less than 4 years, while the Midlands of South Carolina haven't seen even one Winter Storm Warning whole 7 years combined. At this rate, Midlands of SC might not see another winter storm until late this decade.

It's pretty apparent by now the Arctic air is not going to clear the Apps. If there is a storm it will have to rely on CAD. Which is looking less likely by the model run. Sorry CAE you're going to break your record for the longest time without an inch of snow.
GSP will be breaking the same record soon enough. Probably not an inch of snow there again for at least 4 or 5 years. Not sure if they got there Sat night or not.
