Misc 2020/21 Fall and Winter Whamby Thread

Also, for those who were disappointed tonight. Think of events like this as a Test by Mother Nature to keep you humble. Sometimes she is not fair in who she bestows favor to. But tonight, she decided to favor others who may not have received as much as you have in recent years. Try to be happy for them, even if you are envious. Besides, if you got what you wanted all the time, you may not be as appreciative in those seemingly uncommon instances when Mother Nature favored YOU. And she will, eventually.

But only if you are worthy. (and except for you poor suckers living in CAE, because apparently you're never getting snow ever again considering recent trends) ?‍♂️

And that my friends, is an example of Schadenfreude. Which is an experience described as rather than feeling sympathy, one takes pleasure from watching someone's misfortune.

I don't understand why so many people on here seem to want Brick to fail to get snow. He's just a snow weenie like the rest of us.

Also, when Brick gets snow, I usually get snow as well, so I can't help but root for him to get it. RDU just had its least snowy decade on record, it's not like we are in the middle of an all time great stretch for snow in this area, as some posters would seem to suggest. We just aren't sucking as much as other parts of the south, though there have been storms where we got nothing and other areas scored, like December 2017.

LOL. I have no idea how close Brick lives near me. But I'm aware he's close enough that him getting nothing would affect my snow totals as well. This means I may have a self serving bias in pulling for him.

Also, wasn't aware the last decade was the least snowy decade on record but it doesn't surprise me. Moved here just before the winter of 2009-2010, which I remember as GOLDEN. But not so much since then...
 
Winter might be over if euro is right i think they've about given up the idea of Arctic air here nothing remotely cold for February standards forecasted in north AL here just at or maybe a few degrees below a
 
Ughhh im so mad right now everyone said this was an amazing pattern n shot at winter weather yet we get this crap im over it all nobody can predict the weather I seriously don't know half the time why even bother ?
 
All these " pro" meteorologists yelling amazing pattern can take this " amazjng "pattern. And shove it

Sorry I shouldn't of said that but meteorologist are pretty bad i mean they try but you just can't predict the weather its up to God he will have the say im sorry I was rude

Thank you. It's ok. Mets have the same set of tools to use as the rest of us. The tools aren't perfect and neither are any of us. The truth is, the tools/models were pretty much in agreement that the pattern was going to get better. They were wrong.

Very good explanation God gave us the tools but they don't always work the way we want them too neither do humans lol ? I just had my heart ❤ set on snow I should know better hey maybe I can drive somewhere one time to play in some lol brighter days are ahead thats for sure ?

I’m the only other poster who says much regarding climo so assuming you mean me . Can the weenie crap because numbers are fact and the numbers clearly say it’s not an all time good stretch which is not something I would suggest for RDU. Come on dude not cool ! Call me crazy, a goof, eccentric , but don’t accuse me of crap I don’t say. Now GSO on the other hand...
 
The cold isnt moving East. It never is. It’ll marginally be wedged up against the mountains and I’ll just watch thunderstorms enter the CAD and just die, what a epic disaster

You can't get a massive snows year after year and complain that things don't work the way they used to. You can't get 2-4 and be on here 24 hrs later complaining about the next one. Dude has seen more snow since 2018 than I have in a decade. These things aren't going to sit well with the rest of us losers who have to fight for the leftovers while you guys play in your winter wonderland

Yeah, I got 3 inches of snow I can’t complain . It melted all mostly in that day though. Really sad I didn’t get the time to enjoy it . 2018 I also got like 7-8 inches . 2010 was my most memorable snow, 12 inches !

Me too. I’ve got to build a set of steps for my dads coonhound to get up on his bed and an under seat subwoofer box for my truck. Looks like it’s a sheet of 5/8 plywood, 5/8 MDF, some caulk, gorilla glue, automotive carpeting, bondo, automotive adhesive, and decking screws. Already have stain for the steps.
