So where are the places further south than us having snow now getting the cold air from and why aren't we getting it?

I think the problem with east coast snowstorms(and you see this even up the coast in the DC-NYC corridor sometimes) is warm ocean air gets involved a lot... especially in a big dynamic storm. You need a steady cold flow

Texas-Alabama has has reinforcing cold air and a flow from the north

This is painful

Exactly, I'm probably the furthest north member on this board but also the most east, maritime influence screws me often lol but I can score on late blooming clippers too when no one else does. It's why a board wide event is almost impossible

Like I said in the other threads, I think those that are east of 85 can add yet another thing that has to be looked for. Not just established cold air, but for an ongoing cloudiness/rain event to not be going on (especially talking about Georgia/South Carolina). If it was instead sunny and cold for early December, but perhaps a little warmer in the days and diving to the mid 20s-low 30s at night, there would've been a better shot.

The cold air was established this time, but the clouds blocked it from really diving.

But hey, while I get to miss the actual event completely most likely (may get to see SOME snowfall as the thing wraps up tomorrow while I'm on the road but I'm not counting on it), I'm heading northwest anyway tomorrow and even if my destination just got a little snow, I'll get to see the areas that got the best of the event while I'm riding northwest.

right its so hard to get the perfect storm for all of us... it has to be just the right everything or someone inevitably gets screwed. Not amped enough people miss to the south(my problem), too amped it pulls north and people get screwed by warm air(yall's problem)

At least there will be no road problems I've got the salt covered

Well I'm leaving the armpit of ENC, Greenville, headed home hopefully I can see a mix of rain drizzle, salt and if I'm lucky enough and ice pellet or two or at least a flock of birds dropping white turds so at least it looks like it's mixing.

Mix line moving quicker to the se. I’m right on it and it just went from mix to all sleet.

It sure doesnt help us when the ocean temps off our coast are consistently near all-time record highs lol
