Measured 1.5 on the deck rail. Still snowing pretty darn hard.

It stopped here in Kernersville but per the radar it looks like we are just in a dry hole. Appx 2.5 in of snow topped with sleet, maybe 3 in.

It would have helped a lot if rates had of been 10:1 or higher
Earlier I had switched to sleet but went back to moderate snow. This is from 10 minutes ago:

Roads are quite bad here and probably not gonna get much better
The NAM had the low going to KY. It sucks. But it did a respectable job with the warm nose.
What we need to remember is to ALWAYS take the over on the strength and duration of the warm nose, when it's predicted, and ALWAYS take the under on the snow maps.
I don't know why we always try to talk ourselves out of that.

Yeah, I'd definitely say this storm busted here on thought on effects when the road that leads to my house looked like this (NOT MY PIC) for a few hours earlier in the day.
In my case and for deep in South Carolina, I think the RGEM had the best idea. It was the one that showed the heavy band of precip.

We haven’t wasted a flake tonight. It’ll do that for an hour or so and pick up.

Some Flakes definitely mixed in…. My feet prints from 20 min ago covered again. So it’s either Sleet Accumulated that fast or token Flakes hard to tell from streetlight watching

Models definitely busted on the BL temps. Most had us hovering between 31-32 and I’ve been between 26-28 for the duration of the storm. Now the WAA in the mid levels definitely over performed which you have to tip your cap to the NAM on sniffing out.
25 and still lgt snow with no returns over me...
All snow. Boone NC king street also all snow despite no return

From the looks of radar it may very well pivot another round Of heavy snow band or 2 through the upstate. It's trying awful hard to west to change over

Still snow here. But when there's mixing to your west, east, and south my time is very limited.
New small Band developing over the northern foothills last few frames.
I just realized the RAP continues to show 5-6" up here...... hahahaha just spit my drink out when I looked at that.
Interesting though the RAP and HRRR both show the transition line getting right to my doorstep and stopping, I have my doubts for sure

Pretty heavy sleet right now. Little glaze out there, but I don’t see any icicles yet.
I’ve not checked site in a few hours. I saw where NWS had me at 4-6. It seems that other than my earlier post a few moments ago it’s been light but steady. Will be watching to see what adds up but thinking I will be in the 3-5 range when it’s done.
Just looked out again and it’s not even close to what I posted in the pic earlier. Flakes every once in awhile.

We've struggled to get any rates at all up here. Will be lucky to get an inch in the end I think. Congrats to those in MS, AL, and GA who got some heavy snow for a bit! NC and SC winners too. No time to read through 60 pages while at work

100% expect the WAA to win. I didn’t think I’d even sniff ZR this far north and it honestly become the predominant p type after 5-6 hours of snow
I was going to post a couple of days ago but it would have been shot down. NEVER bet against the NAM and it's ability to nail the upper levels for a winter storm in the SE. BTW, I think the globals did an excellent job seeing this storm from 10+ days. I DO think we will have several more storms to follow going forward. This is a lot different than the past couple of years.

I do switch to sleet, but they keep me totally out of freezing rain; which would make me really happy.
