I wanted this one badly.
It's been 3 freaking years in a place that before this snow drought has only gone one other time in my life without a winter storm (2012) and I'm in my mid 50's.
Hell yes us weenies are hurting knowing what could've been and wondering when the next time will be!?
The weenie in me is saying this season,
Heck in 2 weeks or so!!!
My head tells me ain't freaking happening!
Back to snow. The short-range models did show the back-and-forth transitions overnight.

Got like 1.5 inches of snow here in High Point before it went briefly to sleet and now just mostly ZR. Yuck.

The transition to ZR is quicker than I thought it would be with this storm. I’m guessing that’s because the warm nose aloft is stronger than I think. Fully melting snow before it reaches the ground

It's bizarre. NAM did very poorly in GA/AL, but seems to be doing pretty well in the Carolinas. It's vice versa for the FV3 and global models.

Heavy sleet on top of 2" of snow...I'm thinking we will transition back to light snow in a bit

Still just light flurries and warm nose surging north, not a snowballs chance (sure pun intended) of those 4" amounts the HRRR had, verifying
Definitely getting some sleet mixing in now. Hope this isn’t the beginning of the end, though I’ll surely take sleet over freezing rain, as long as that lasts. I’d guess we have at least an inch of snow? I just drove home in it and all the roads are covered. Not the worst driving conditions since it’s more snow than ice/slush at this point although definitely need longer to stop.
Back to mostly sleet here in Mooresville

Feels like it was this area that busted the hardest.
Gutter is running hard right now 
Went and pulled the generator out of my shed and moved it into the garage Justin case. Unless so thing changes it to straight rain, I’m starting to think that a few more solid hours of freezing rain is going to cause some issues.

We all did. In retrospect, maybe the possibility of actually having something worth tracking in over 1,000 days made it easier for me to ignore the red flags. Never again will I make that mistake.

Looks like we’re all sleet here now. Oh well, the snow was fun, wish it lasted longer but what can ya do.
Hoping heavy rates can bring snow back but no counting on it. Pretty light right now.

Never bet against the warm layer! The Euro had me at 32” of snow 48/36 hours out and I got 6 flakes and an 1” of sleet! Scarred for life

This storm busted high in lower SC. Not a lot of folks were calling for a WWA all the way to Charleston. And sleet down to the coast.

People were saying long range NAM was a horrible model! I knew different!
Yeah but missed virtually everything that happened 100 miles south of there into South Carolina. Thermals were pretty damn good though which we know already and still try to wishcast away

Definitely needed a much stronger cold air source to the north to funnel in reinforcing shots to counter WAA. Otherwise the line moves north like butter
