I'll take this moment to say it's uncommon for an event to start where the sn/ip "sticks" so quickly. Usually we got a warmish ground and rely on rates to overcome seeing some white on the ground, then pavement. Also have the benefit of falling at night.
Keeping an eye on the frz rain mixing in later. I ain't worried yet, but growing up in the Triad made me respect any ice accrual potential, and it's been a long time since Raleigh got a significant ice storm. Wouldn't be pretty around here if that happened. (they don't call it the city of oaks for nothing)
