Down to 29 here with more room to fall... ground is white, snow is picking up in intensity, and the radar look beautiful as far as the eye can see to the West. Let's go!!!

Yeah its most recent forecast had me at 31 by 10am. Instead it’s 28.6
Snowing in Moonville and Simpsonville.
No doubt!
Looks to have backed that down some with the 850 retreating SE

When Brad P was fairly new as the head meteorologist at WCNC he forecasted a big snow and we got nothing. I heard it was a major league big deal at the station. Career-changing. He's since become much more conservative, and it has served him well. This ain't Ohio.
Evaporative Cooling will handle that. We should be fine. Plenty of dry air to work with

2cnd Storm this week ( in a row) The front end Band Shows up south of where the models put it. That band Sunday event was suppose to slap across southern/central VA, ended up across northern NC.

Yep. I think it was 2015 or 2016. We got blanked south of 85. Think he was forecasting 6 inches.

NWS Huntsville said an additional 4 inches is possible. They had a total of 1 to 4 this morning and some are already at 4 or 5
This is a constant in main stream TV media/ Radio (My area of work). On air TV mets are told to address the masses. Not us. You can actually get a sense of their enthusiasm through youtube videos, but that still is an extension of the station and it's conglomerates. We can be weenies.

There’s only so much heavier snowfall rates can do in cases like this. Lifting the air adiabatically also causes greater latent heat release in/around the snow growth zones Eventually, warm advection takes over and you gradually transition to sleet.

1.5 inches here just west of you on the mountain. 24.8/24. Flakes have been really small for a while. Need some bigger ones before the sleet arrives for it to really pile up.

Dude can we legit trend more qpf while simultaneously trending colder right as we are approaching take off? I think .5 as a general average across NC with most if not all as frozen is major, especially considering the antecedent conditions.

Patiently waiting here in the northern Upstate with two snow starved little ones. If we bust it may cost me a trip to Disney, haha. They are so excited about seeing some snow. I am glad that those of you in Birmingham, Southern Atlanta, Augusta, even in the low country are seeing some winter weather. Great event for the board.

This 14Z HRRR run is really dropping that sleet/snow line further south in NC
