Wintry 1/9-12 Winter Potential Great Dane or Yorkie

Yeah this isn’t the kind of pattern where we get big snows here in NM. The pacific pattern is fine but we usually need a SE ridge in place to keep the upper low locked in.

Generously a flurry blizzard for me
Man that area of the country is beautiful to me. Got stationed in 29 Palms and drove 40 across the country. NM, Flagstaff AZ both really nice! Seeing snow in Joshua Tree and 29 was an experience!

I'm quite content with the way the models are behaving. It's expected. The cutoff low ain't happening. Trough east of HI .. nothing is retrograding back to the baja.

I think we need a board therapist sometimes however. lol
i wish i had your confidence, i think it's unlikely and requires a lot of meteorological gymnastics but i think it's possible with how blocky the pattern is

This thing is crawling and playing with our emotions. I "think" it's going to track due east from here and not bomb out. Let's see if I'm right.

Haven't seen a look this pretty at 174hr in so long, usually is 274 and goes away after a run. Gfs has shown this for 3 days straight now

This run dumps a lot of energy into Mexico, and yet just enough slowly crawls away from there for there to be some light snow in the SE instead of nothing...

Aren’t we entering that period of time though where we say models “lose” our storm? Only to bring it back in the 3-5 day range? I think the next 2 days of model runs will prove if that is true this time.. quite possibly.. we have enough favorable ingredients that we keep it.. and each run is just making adjusts to what will actually happen.. still a long way to go to get my hopes up.. WoW… have you hired that therapist yet? And no judgement on mental issues here.. our family got plenty to go around!🤣🤣🤪
