Northern MS has been in the game the whole time...They are starting to look really good as far as frozen precip

i see where the euro has it across mississippi but not so much on the latest gfs runs

I find it ironic how we're trending towards canonical NINA climo esp with the first wave into the OH valley & interior NE. Obviously if this shears out into multiple pieces & a secondary area of low pressure waits in the wings, then we have an entirely different ball game on our hands esp the further west along I-40 you go

yep, the question becomes does it actually get strung out or are we gonna see a more consolidated piece of energy kick all at once which changes everything as well. It's a fascinating setup with lots of possible outcomes

Hey Storm, how far south/east in Alabama does the snow/ice get on the Euro?
pretty much across the entire state as the system is pulling away. but verbatim for the NW part of the state that euro run was a fairly healthy winter storm . with freezing rain being the biggest issue.

There's been good consistency west of the apps cause their closer to the event time period. Hard to tell of what could unfold for sure closer to the apps and east of the apps. Cause the area's east of the apps are further away from the beginning of the event time period.

Lots of great information on this board, just like the old Talk Weather.  I am still learning to even try to figure out all the correct terminology you guys use, but just glad you are here to share it.

All I know is that if Alabama beats Washington on Saturday, I hope the ice holds off until at least the next Saturday morning, because I am flying off to Tampa by Friday evening... If Alabama loses well then I hope everyone cashes in early  ;D

Hey Storm5 and everyone I'm a new member and I love the winter weather here in the south whenever we do get it... I'm happy to be apart of this site and wish to learn as much from SD storm5 gawx accu and all the other professionals

I haven't seen maps but by looking at those pics above, I would think most of central Alabaman sees 1-3 inch event. Euro has had it back to backed runs. Someone post map if able

This euro run looks almost identical to our big snow last January 21st up here in Tennessee. Although it's nice to look at I don't like being in the bullseye 6-7 days out. For those saying it's game over for them I'd say don't do that because the models have been all over the place the last few days. Heck they way things have been going the next run will have Alabama in the bullseye and Nashville on the fringe.

do you have a euro ice map?

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the information on this board. Anyone know what the Euro ensembles look like?

I just don't like to see a weaker blocking setup as we get inside 10 days.  Seems that is what's happening here.  Allowing the SE ridge to flex really messes us up over here further East.
