I'm visiting NYC this weekend and WILL be happy if it trends off to the east!
I am so hoping yall get some snow from this one. EURO looks like its been trending closer and closer to the GFS as we get closer to the event. NE folks are holding on for dear life.
This is exactly what I think of when I saw that EURO run… oddly enough this storm started out looking like it would be completely a eastern NC jackpot…

Were the waves sampled for the 12z runs or does that come later?
It’s an excellent analog: ULL, Lee side trof, crashing column.
Not often you have a mesoscale band like this appearing on a smoothed ensemble mean ??

Becoming pretty clear mid level capture of the surface cyclone will not happen until well north of our latitude. Weenie runs showed the capture underway and bombo commencing wholesale before HAT. Still some volatility in solutions but things appear to be settling down. We are still 60+hrs out and almost at the threshold for CAMs, something to note.
Based off obs, nam has been to fast with the southern stream energy. Not good news for enc
