Steady light snow for about 20 minutes now here a few miles east of Woodstock. Temp is 33 and roads are getting very wet before the bottom falls out temp wise. Will be some serious ice issues overnight and into tomorrow.
Sounds good, bud. Going to be a loong night
Look at the Jackosn radar it dows the same thing but there are plenty of ground reports in that area as well

State of emergency was mainly declared for school closings and to have extra resources to handle the nasty roads that will refreeze and be a nightmare. The real problem are the crashing temperatures freezing any precipitation that did fall. They would not declare a state of emergency if it was going to be just an inch of snow. Trust me there will be more than that in places, especially the 85 corridor and East Central AL.
Front is literally upon my neighborhood

I'll bump this if appropriate (please tell me) but I must say, in situations like this, WV is as important a tool as any ... tossed a few loops up there earlier, but this one is awesome. Worth studying the dynamic as well as any model in this time frame, IMHO ...Looking good![]()

Y'all remember a few years back, Dallas , TX was forecast to get an inch and ended up with 12"!? That's the kind of busts that give you hope! It gave a lot of us wintry precip too
Yep, that's been his approach for years.Brad P. doing what he does. Inching up those totals. He downplays everything until the rulers come out.

It was predicted by the models to do that so it should not have any effect on TN/NCDon't know if it will have any ramifications or not, but that line is dissipating as it enters the apps in far east TN and western NC. If our snow is dependent upon that main band, then we are in trouble.
Yea...got alot of sleet mixed in up in Etowah County. Appears theres a dry layer and possibly a small warm nose. Not saying it's not snowing is the rates that are being affected IMHO we got some dry air somewhere
As with ATL mets as well....Yep, that's been his approach for years.

I've had intermittent virga already, well ahead. It's still nearly 47, but apparently that becomes history pretty quickly. I wouldn't mind having some of that front runner rain to juice up the column. Already had a bit of virga snow go by just under me. And looking back in w Texas I wonder if we'll see some flurries tomorrow night if that rides this way? TSee the precip starting to blossom away from the main line, SW of ATL? It's happening! And look at the water vapor imagery , thing of beauty!
Its snowing here heavily in Tuscaloosa right now
