Still not seeing the MJO perfect phase translate to an arctic outbreak cold enough for a winter event for 85 % of the board. Looks like just more glancing shots of cold up until Christmas week. Hopefully that changes in the near future or Dec is cooked....which is OK because January is more climo favorable. I shouldn't have bought into the hype/hope...none of us should have other than the nc mountains. I just don't consider Virginia southeast.

December is fine, seasonable for us. Better than a torch IMO. The jet/pacific keeps cold more to the north right now sadly. But NE and mid-atlantic are going to do great this month IMO.

Lol, with Virginia probably going to do well too, I'm expecting that Virginia discussion to come up this year again as well.

I'm just happy highs have been between 45 and 60 for the last week with lows in the 20s and 30s. Pretty much what I expect around here between 12/1 and 3/1

Not even the best models have much accuracy past 10 days. Even the new Google AI has less than 50% accuracy past 15 days. I think we see it change for the better which will hopefully bring more snow chances near Christmas.

I’m tired of people saying it’s only December 4. In most of the south there’s less than 2 months left of winter, unless you’re in the northern half of NC and TN or in the mountains. February is no longer a winter month as far as I’m concerned.

When it snows 12” in the Gulf of Mexico and you haven’t had 12” of snow combined in the last 10 years. If y’all are wondering why we bi*ch and moan on here all the time that’s why. Not to mention 90% of our “threats” (lol) in the last 10 years on this board are from coastal lows and anafronts. People complain for good reason. It’s not baseless. It’s tiresome but still worth doing. Because sometimes we hit.

I will say I believe it was 2023-2025 we didn't even have a threat to track inside 5 days I believe, just ghost patterns that never ended up. Its Dec 4th and we are tracking two inside 4 days at one time....For NC/VA anyway. Life is also about perspective

I get it and we’ve all been there. The good news is this isn’t a medium or even strong La Niña, which I think will help extend winter further than December
