$9.34 only put 10 on it i wasn't fully confident. Good win by you guys
I wish they had jelled like this two months ago. Injuries didn’t help. Middlebrooks is a good player. If he hadn’t gotten in foul trouble it would have been a closer game.

LETS GO!!! Boo finally grew some. Wonder who coughed up the money for the buyout. And if it’s not Will Wade I don’t want it

I hate what College Sports is now. As a kid that grew up in NC, I never played in the backyard dreaming of playing in the NBA..... I dreamed of playing in the ACC tournament on that Purple n green Court in Greensboro. This used to be the ticket , its not even barely watchable now. It should NEVER leave Greensboro and it should NEVER be anything except that Purple n Green Court forever. I also miss the original 9 Members, screw SMU, CAL , Stanford, ND, BC , LOU , MIA , VT those arent ACC schools and I will never claim them. Bring Maryland Back and the original 9. Quarterfinal Friday used to be AMAZING, theyd roll that big TV in the classroom at school and youd get to watch the games. Thats only IF my mom even made me go to school that day, if my Report card was good I got to stay home to watch the games 😂

One lane violation away from overtime...

Anyway, I think the Heels are in the tournament now, but will have to play on Tues/Wed in one of the play in games. Of course, they don't call them play in games--they call it the first four?? I dunno.

Duke's got the 1 seed playing in Raleigh the first weekend. Since they won't have to play Mercer, I think they'll do fine. 🔥 😏

That said, ACC is definitely down this year. 4 teams likely in tourney, but I think only Duke and Clemson make to Sweet 16.

Round 3 started off with only moderate winds in the AM, but they picked up as forecasted to 15-25 with gusts to 30+ by late afternoon. The best scores, like for Conners, were mainly early as a result. The avg score was +2/74.

The leader after 3 rounds at -12 is 34 year old JJ Spaun, who has only one PGA Tour win (in 2022). He played relatively well during the worst of the winds.

In 2nd at -11 is a potential Cinderella story, Bud Cauley, because he was seriously hurt as a passenger in a horrible auto accident in 2018, he has no PGA Tour wins, his 35th birthday is tomorrow, he’s from nearby Daytona Beach (he used to attend The Players as a youngster), and he’s in desperate need of FedEx Cup points to keep his card while playing on a major medical extension.

Tied for 3rd at -9 are 45 year old veteran, 2009 US Open winner, and Greenville, SC, native Lucas Glover as well as winless Greensboro, NC, resident and Duke alumnus Alex Smalley.

Rory is -8 while Scottie is -5. After 77s, Morikawa fell to -4 while Xander fell to +4. After yesterday’s course record tying -10/62, JT was +2 today and dropped back to -3.

Due to forecasted thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon, they’re teeing off tomorrow early, in threesomes, and on both 1 and 10. They still may not finish before the storms come in as they seem to be coming in earlier per models. However, there’d likely be enough time to finish after a 3 or so hour delay.

Best golfers in the world were in Singapore. Joaquin Niemann is on fire, Koepka, Rahm, DeChambeau all playing well and 54 yr old Lefty still grinding.

I wish they would find a way to combine already. The Players is great but needs the LIV guys. I have a hard time watching LIV.

Agreed, that leader board for the Players was lacking to say the least. I actually enjoy watching LIV, took some getting used to though tbh. They'll figure something out, they have too

Congrats to UNCW and High Point for getting into the tourney. That’s 4 NC teams in the tourney … Keatts left the Seahawks in 2017 and now here they are in the tourney … things are looking up for the Wolfpack if that means anything

High Point's 1st ever NCAA tourney appearance. They came close many times, but usually ended up losing in their conference tournament. Good for them.

Those kind of 1st round games (13vs4 and 14vs3) are among my favorite to watch. The underdog has no pressure to win, and brimming with confidence after winning their conf tourney. The favorite is almost always a power 6 team favored to get to sweet 16. THEY have all the pressure to win. If the underdog keeps it within a few points after halftime, the neutral crowd gets louder and more into it.

I wouldn't be suprised if 1 of the 2 (UNCW/HP) pull off an upset.

The Players 3 hole aggregate playoff on holes 16-18 starts at 9AM tomorrow between Rory and the much less known but similarly aged American golfer, Spaun. This will be either Rory’s biggest tourney win since the 2019 Players (excluding the Fedex playoffs) or just Spaun’s 2nd win and obviously his biggest win. The weather will be sunny and cooler with windiness returning but from a totally different direction behind the cold front.

Rory wins the playoff easily after a birdie on 16 vs a par for Spaun followed by Spaun going into the water on 17. That lead to a triple bogey on 17 for him vs a bogey for Rory, giving Rory a 3 shot lead. After Rory went well right on the 18th tee shot, Spaun went even further right and any tiny chance Spain had was essentially gone.

Rory already has 2 wins this year, the earliest he’s ever done that.
