Interestingly here just north of Chattanooga we have remained all snow so far after light sleet to start out around 830am

That's getting lose to causing some problems as in some places the acrual will be rather high given Temps in the 20s and light, persistent precip.
Snow here, with occasional sleet mixed in. Some of the hires models insisted on sleet as the p-type here whereas the globals had just snow. Big question last couple days was which camp would be correct...and well, turns out there was a little truth to both camps.

The snow tapered off here overnight and started back this morning at 22 degrees with several burst of heavy thick big flake snow. That lasted about 3 hours followed by a pause and now down to 20 with a snow sleet mix, mostly sleet. I don’t recall seeing this much sleet at 20 degrees. I guess there is a shallow layer with moderate precip overhead. Going to venture out shortly after cleaning off and deicing the YJ. Currently sleet/snow mix 20/16.

Weather channel is showing Memphis has received 17 inches the past 24 hrs that can’t be right?? I’ve seen videos looks like maybe 4-6 inches. Is their system very inaccurate or something?
If this snow doesn't pick up i'll be surprised if we get even half an inch.

I hope this next batch coming out of MS is more snow than sleet. We have been battling mixing issues this morning. Back and forth.

It’s snowing pretty heavy right now in Knoxville. Currently, riding behind a snow plow on 40 westbound. This might not have been our smartest move. Heading back to Powder Springs. Will post when I can. Helping Hubby with driving.

In Tunnel Hill, Ga. we have had some sleet, graupel, and rain. About 5 miles to the Northwest in Ringgold, Ga. they are getting big fat flakes, lol. I am literally on the edge of getting some snow! ?

Snowed about 2-3 last night south of Franklin Tn and been steady snowing all morning. Just measured 4 on the back deck. Pretty cool to see

Consider the source. I watched a MSM channel last night with a reporter out in the cold saying it’s snowing in places that never get snow like Memphis and Dallas like it’s the end of times. This is clearly a normal winter event and was being made into an earth ending climate change catastrophe. It’s just winter folks and weather patterns are cyclical.

Happy for everyone getting good snow out of this. Hardly anything happening in Huntsville at the moment, back to very light sleet showers. The temperature does continue to drop however, down to 22/19 here.

Still moving now on 75 south. Everything is coated white in Tennessee. It’s truly amazing, beautiful, breathtaking but also nerve wracking driving. Luckily, road conditions aren’t great but not terrible.
Heavy snow now. This afternoon and tonight will pile up once these temps drop and we lose daylight

Checking in from Lawrenceburg, TN. Started snowing last night around 8pm. We've had a few breaks here and there but its been pretty steady. We are somewhere around 3" right now. Really hoping that precip in North MS heads this way, but I have my doubts. Currently in a dry slot. Any reports coming in from Oxford. It looks like they are getting smashed!
Just under 1" of qpf on the latestv hrrr and rap for Chattanooga and Knoxville. Not going to matter if that's sleet, snow, or a mix of both. That's a lot of frozen precip for any winter storm.

Storm total from 10am forward.
Snow all day so far in Blowing Rock. Roads are fine though as we're sitting just above freezing. 32.7 at the house, just at 4000'. Bit warmer closer into town. Maybe an inch on the ground.

We've pushed over 3" up in Signal Mountain. It's been more sleet than snow for the past 45 minutes but still waffling. Models have been depicting a little cooling in the 850's this afternoon. Hopefully that'll keep us both primarily snow later on.
EDIT: Every time I make a post, my P-type transitions. Back to mostly snow again.
