47 here this morning
Lol. Daughter just texted me and asked if this is real fall or fake fall. ?Looks like KATL reached 55F, KPDK hit 48F. Both of these stations are inside the perimeter, and KPDK is now averaging lows that are 4 degrees cooler for the month then KATL.
You’ll be 75 and breezy today though when I’m 80.Only 52.9F here, not in a valley.
This is probably true. You’ll be 75 and breezy today though when I’m 80.
You will need it tomorrow for sure. Low 80s with much higher dews.I’ve had my AC off for 24 hours ??
Got a similar picture on my wall from our June trip.Love this time of year. This is out west somewhere. What a fishing hole, with a spectacular view.

Not exactly true. 40s in September never happened regularly in the deep south. Maybe the upper south and in the mountains. 50 happened from time to time.Used to happen pretty regularly in the 80's and 90's but not much in Septembers of recent years.
I'm pretty sure upper 40s occur regularly every September in some locations of the deep south, especially areas maybe with a little higher elevation perhaps. Not exactly true. 40s in September never happened regularly in the deep south. Maybe the upper south and in the mountains. 50 happened from time to time.
Dewpoint Dan just admit it.I'm pretty sure upper 40s occur regularly every September in some locations of the deep south, especially areas maybe with a little higher elevation perhaps.
I remember around the year 2000 it was down in the '30s in North Georgia in September... That was rare for sure. Not exactly true. 40s in September never happened regularly in the deep south. Maybe the upper south and in the mountains. 50 happened from time to time.
UMMMM no..... maybe the tops of the peaks of the far NE GA mountains. We ate talking about places where people actually live.I'm pretty sure upper 40s occur regularly every September in some locations of the deep south, especially areas maybe with a little higher elevation perhaps.
Have had at least 2 mid fourties’ here so far.I'm pretty sure upper 40s occur regularly every September in some locations of the deep south, especially areas maybe with a little higher elevation perhaps.
Actually he isn’t wrong . Mean September minimum for Raleigh is 49, Atlanta outside of its UHI should be similar or even colder . A low in the upper 40s is pretty normal for September .UMMMM no..... maybe the tops of the peaks of the far NE GA mountains. We ate talking about places where people actually live.
Yes it was in the upper 30s in either 2000 or 2001 in Sept.I remember around the year 2000 it was down in the '30s in North Georgia in September... That was rare for sure.
Thanks LarryI'll join in here with some data. I chose Carrollton for no particular reason ??. Carrollton is not in the mountains, but around similar elevation to Atlanta. The years I'm looking at are 2011-2021, warmer years if we are really being honest.
Years that hit the 40s in September as follows:
Carrollton - West metro Atlanta 1102'
2021
2022
2017
2012
4/10
Dallas, GA - Also west metro Atlanta 1043'
2021
2020
2018
2016
2015
2012
6/10
Blairsville, GA - Far north Georgia 1893'
*We are going to do 30s for Blairsville instead of 40s
2021
2020
2016
2015
2012
5/10
Based on all of this I would say 40s is pretty common occurrence in September in the piedmont, and 30s in the mountains.
I disagree. I've experienced 40s many times over where I live in September the last 40 years and im not in the mountains. Just got down to 46 the other morning. Doesn't happen every September but ive seen it in the 40s on several occasions around here in September. Not exactly true. 40s in September never happened regularly in the deep south. Maybe the upper south and in the mountains. 50 happened from time to time.
Saw 39 on Labor Day in mineral bluff back about 13-14 years ago.I remember around the year 2000 it was down in the '30s in North Georgia in September... That was rare for sure.
