Looks like KATL reached 55F, KPDK hit 48F. Both of these stations are inside the perimeter, and KPDK is now averaging lows that are 4 degrees cooler for the month then KATL.

Used to happen pretty regularly in the 80's and 90's but not much in Septembers of recent years.

Not exactly true. 40s in September never happened regularly in the deep south. Maybe the upper south and in the mountains. 50 happened from time to time.

I'm pretty sure upper 40s occur regularly every September in some locations of the deep south, especially areas maybe with a little higher elevation perhaps.
