Used to happen pretty regularly in the 80's and 90's but not much in Septembers of recent years.

We are more likely to get 100 in September lately as opposed to 40

If we get a storm hooking back inland dews will jump right back up into the 70s.

51 and a jacket this morning. Feels like peak fall. With seasonal temps looking likely for the next 10-14 days at least around here we should start seeing some legit fall tree foliage this year. Already been seeing some leaves turning here and there but temps look to stay in the mid 70’s with lows in the low 50’s we should see that really start cranking up in the next couple of weeks.

Indeed. I think someone in that normally cold corridor from you over to roxboro/Henderson then down to sanford/southern pines gets a 38/39 tonight. What a huge change was 98 here yesterday, I can hear my Bermuda surrendering this morning

I do hope we find a 38 in close proximity just for the 60 degree temp swing (although RDU 98 might be a little sus, it's official lol)

That should really say the air temperature at the Raleigh International Airport was 98. The tarmac really heats up under clear skies in late summer. UHI is real. I bet the tree covered areas of Raleigh were not 98 degrees.

Lots of records fell yesterday; GSP reached 93 (old record of 92), CLT reached 96, CAE reached 99 (96)!
But happily those temps are gone; awesome out there today.

I’m down to 57 but my dewpoint has also come up to 45 so upper 40s will probably be it for me. This would actually be my first time below 50 in September since 2017

First sub 50 degree reading since the end of winter. Currently at 49 with a low of 51 from GSP. I think we can get to mid 40’s at this rate. It was actually quite chilly at the game tonight and when I got home and let the dogs out about an hour ago that chilly feeling was actually pretty cold. I freaking love it.

I'm at 50.3 degrees right now. The lowest reading at my location was 49.4 degrees and I was a little disappointed that it didn't go lower than that. There are a few clouds in the sky and that very well may have had something with the temperature not dropping more this morning.
