Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

I'm hoping for GAWX!

Thanks for noting this, which would be a dream come true! I wish that were really snow on the GA/SC coast. However, I just looked at 850s and they’re above 0C (starting at +4C and ending near +1C). So, that would actually likely be ZR changing to IP late with probably little snow at most. It had 0.25” liquid equivalent here. So, Pivotal clown maps (at least UKMET) count all wintry precip as snow.

This hour on the Euro will be what verifies if we are to see an ice storm for the whole storm on the southern side, considering that it looks eerily similar to the southern edge of the areas that saw a little ice last time:

(I honestly wouldn't be too upset if that is the case though)

I have relatives with 2 kids who left Woodstock Ga at 11:30 for a funeral in Hurlock Maryland. They are taking I 85 ,I 95 ,US 50 route. Driving a truck with all terrain tires . Wondering if any roads closures or just bad areas I should warn them about.

Mid Atlantic is in the bulleye once again. Yet another Southeast snowstorm becomes a Mid Atlantic snowstorm, while many of us deal with ice. Just great.

Don't worry, it will probably be rain to snow on this one with the snow confined to the mountains of NC, mainly.

Also it's in the 40s all the way into SE VA at some point during the event. Shift that around 250 miles southwest and some inland areas (espically in SC and NE North Carolina) might see temperutures mainly upper 30s-low 40s with this system. Hey it's completely not out of the question yet, espically if the Euro amps up even futher.

So far this winter for me has been a lot better as for as temperature wise because last year it was hell and I mean hell but on the other side of things when it comes to snow it’s been pretty meh some days we will get a couple of inches and sometimes it will be a pretty and dry snow shower or flurries but I will have to say on average maybe 10 inches or so have fallen those accumulated snowfall maps for the year up here in Montana has been straight bs…Some of you guys down south has had a better winter than me so far
