Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Of those winters I mentioned early this morning:

If you look at all La Ninas since 1895 that were above normal in Dec at RDU, the median snow of those 22 winters is ~3.7", or ~25% below normal and ~2/3rds of those winters had below average snowfall. Not the end of the world, and you could cherry-pick a few occasional blockbusters (1999-00) as a counterpoint, but the overall signal certainly puts us at a decided disadvantage when December is warm in a la nina. Same can not be said for El Nino winters tho.

So, we're basically giving ourselves a 33% chance (historically) to end up 'cashing in' this winter, you can basically assume that's the upper bound on the chances here because the long-term trend is towards warmer/less snowy winters w/ time."

Fwiw, a majority of the "good" winters of that subset for RDU (1921-22, 1964-65, 1999-00, & 2001-02) produced a big dog in mid-late January. Looks like March was the next most common time to produce a decent-good storm of these winters.

Nah I’m talking more about the fat ones who know they are fat but try to cover it up with a bunch of ---- like that to try to feel better but it doesn’t work because they have crippling anxiety on the inside despite the large loud persona on the out. Nothing cute about 300 pound Betsy when she is burping and hollering real loud and ignorantly when you take her out to chili’s and she gets frustrated at some server.

I’m just waiting on Larry to accuse me of being racist because he assumed Im stereotyping black girls when in reality the women I had in mind were 5 foot 4 Southern white ladies who wear flip flops with high water jeans and monogrammed turquoise colored shirts to match the Karen cut and their bowling ball shape.

WTF is up with traffic circles ??? Seriously, I think iowa just discovered them and they put one every 100yards on some streets! Waterloo is the worse! And they love a freaking 4 way stop! Busy ass intersections and just damn stop signs!!?

Traffic circles are far more efficient and safe at moving traffic . And I too hope they put a 8 lane freeway through your house ! Hope the chair gets hit by an 18 wheeler!

New Jersey has this weird thing my friend told me where you can’t turn left , you got to turn into this exit thing to the right and do some weird ---- then stop on the light again and cross . Best road designs are in cities that encourage less driving … let’s go Netherlands !

The Panthers defense looks a bit off. This is quite unexpected. It's Usuallly the Panthers offense that sucks and their defense that's quite good.
