I would confer with @Dewpoint Dan before making a statement like that.Give or take a week on either side of Labor day and we typically get our first cool / dry front.
Yeah right around 9/10 seems to be when we get our first noticeable cool shot. If we progress like we should that might be a couple weeks earlier this year or we at least aren't hammering 90s in late August into early SeptGive or take a week on either side of Labor day and we typically get our first cool / dry front.
I knew if i said the wrong thing, you'd come in and enlighten us with your real Climo Bro #factsI would confer with @Dewpoint Dan before making a statement like that.

In Georgia we usually always got our first cool shot in late August. Now the first real big cold front didn't usually come until Mid to late September.Yeah right around 9/10 seems to be when we get our first noticeable cool shot. No kidding that left a mental scar on me that might last for yearsNothing will be worse than Fall 2019... upper 90's through Sept and the first week on Oct.
I had killed a few thousand SQft that summer to renovate that area. Had to seed 3 times that fall because of the heat. I was having to water so much to keep the seedlings from baking out that i kept getting fungus. Then that final seed was so late, that I lost half of it to the winter. No kidding that left a mental scar on me that might last for years

That is a negative. In Georgia we usually always got our first cool shot in late August. Now the first real big cold front didn't usually come until Mid to late September.
Which part? I remember always getting a day or two in late August with highs in the low to mid 80s with lows near 60 and low dewpoints. I remember one year we actually had upper 40s in Mid August in the wake of Hurricane Charley. That is a negative.
Maybe one out of four years that would happen. Usually the first cold front only drops humidity and doesn't drop temperatures.Which part? We are really starting our seasonal cool down in the second half of August 85/65 or so in the last 10 days of August is fairly normalWhich part? I guess it just depends what part of GA you are from. In the western part it seems to cool down earlier than further east.Maybe one out of four years that would happen. Usually the first cold front only drops humidity and doesn't drop temperatures.
Man here you go bringing my name into something, if you want a hug or a kiss just tell me man sheeshI told yall charlotte stinks. from cancer in the soil around Huntersville because of coal ash, to natural gas spills in Huntersville as well, to raw sewage spills in charlottes drinking water... and according to the link it's only the largest in a year so this is normal business apparently. 850,000 gallons of raw sewage spills into North Carolina river
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte Water says nearly 850,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the Catawba River near Old Dowd Road on Friday. It was the largest spill of untreated wastewater in Cha…myfox8.com
South Florida is the same as western California, proving that longitude doesn't matter! This is an interesting map. Apparently the further east you go the earlier your warmest day of the year will be. Further west its in early to Mid August. On average, most of NC has already seen their hottest weather of the year.View attachment 86896
Maybe all the cicadas are eating the mosquitoes. I've noticed less as well.Has anyone noticed that there are fewer mosquitoes this year? Or they're biting less or something? I usually get tore up anytime I'm outside, but I have 0 bite this year. My neighbor mentioned the same thing to me the other day.
I've also noticed less fire ants, but that may be because I've done a good job killing a lot of them.
West Nile mosquito reported in Charlotte just recently.Has anyone noticed that there are fewer mosquitoes this year? Or they're biting less or something? I usually get tore up anytime I'm outside, but I have 0 bite this year. My neighbor mentioned the same thing to me the other day.

Way behindNHC has 20% circle blob off the s/e coast on day 5 I see no one is talking about. Not even Webb
I'd keep an eye on as early as next weekend into the next week as the trough lifts. Going to be an old front, low sfc pressures and maybe a mcv or 2 floating around. Good setup to make a mess with a tropical system that gets pushed west by the building bermuda ridge

Same, I had one mosquito on me this morning but that's it, usually they are swarming. I've still got some fire ants around but there does seem to be fewer mounds this year, now that I think of it within the last couple of weeks I've noticed fewer deer flies as well. Weird considering the high humidityHas anyone noticed that there are fewer mosquitoes this year? Or they're biting less or something?
