It goes along with our society which is becoming where less and less social interaction is needed. I still stand by my opinion that Time magazine will have social media listed on its cover as the worlds worst invention one day.

Would humans be better off without social media, which includes this forum by the way?

Edit: Social media, like this forum, actually increase social interaction for especially introverted/shy people.

I do want to believe this guy, having had Covid and just tested positive for antibodies for 2nd time. Been 3 months since my infection. Seriously thinking if I get vaccinated I may only do 1 shot, but not J&J. Reading and hearing about people that had Covid and got just 1 shot may be protected just as good as people that get both shots

You probably already know these things:

Many extroverts (introverts) don't understand that introverts (extroverts) have brains that are literally wired very differently and can't empathize with them very well.
The wiring of an introvert's (extrovert's) brain makes it nearly impossible for an introvert (extrovert) to behave anything like an extrovert (introvert) on a regular basis. If they somehow did, life would be miserable for them as they wouldn't be being themselves.
Whereas an extrovert tends to gain energy from socializing, an introvert tends to get tired out from socializing and regains their energy when they're alone. There's not much, if anything, that can change that because it is hard wired in them.
Neither being extroverted nor being introverted is considered more normal than the other one.

Social media has uses that can be really good. Like you said I absolutely see it being a good thing for some people and situations. For instance this forum is full of weather geeks and I’m sure many are like myself and my wife gets tired of me talking about weather. Getting people with the same interests together across a broad area is an excellent use of social media.

No one wants to be put in awkward situations but it helps our growth. Now a lot of social media is being used to take the place of social interaction. You can see this perfectly when you get in a elevator with a crowd of people and everyone cannot even stand the few minutes of silence without burying their faces in their phones.

I say this as someone who would absolutely prefer to buy 200 acres of land in Montana and build a house in the middle. However, God didn’t call man to be a hermit but to interact with his neighbors.

I always felt the whole rigid introvert / extrovert labels didn’t do much. I think people can be both . I haven’t read the science on it , just how I feel personally . I spend most of my time alone , hiking , reading , driving . Put me in a crowd though and I absolutely love to meet everyone and cause commotion , very good with people . I still get tired though and skip out on nights out and opt for options with less people .

Trump initially went out of his way to praise Xi and then did a sudden 180. Biden initially killed the Wuhan lab investigation and then just did a sudden 180. Trump and Biden both look really bad on this. One can't criticize Biden (Trump) and defend Trump (Biden) at the same time and not be employing a typical political double standard.
