Pattern Caperil 2021

Naw highs in the 50's in spring is not unusual, no more so than 85-90 is.....I would rather have 50's in April than 85-90.....the frost the end of this week will be marginal at best for most of us and its certainly not looking like ag crushing frost or freezes.....hell most fields are not even planted yet.....
Fields no. Flower beds yes. I do enjoy this weather though, just wish I'd waited til May. Might have to tarp over my bed tonight.

I'm going to cover everything that is finally budding again after the last freeze. I'm not sure my crepe myrtle and chaste trees can take 2 kills.
Definitely do this, its easier than planting new ones. Is this going to be a borderline 32 degree thing or a few hours below 32? Last time we hit 26 and it killed my stuff. Lantanas started showing some green again so I think it can handle an hour or so of 32 but not that 29-30ish temps.

I'm not convinced we get below freezing but it's going to be close. Tonight is almost all CAA driven cold, winds will try to die off near sunrise but I don't think we see optimal radiation conditions. Tomorrow night might have a better chance at radiating but we may already be starting the WAA process especially toward morning

Yep, last frost/freeze setup looked much more menacing then this one might walk away with barely any damage

Hrrr even has some weak wind gusts fri morning, might not touch freezing here from this cooldown lol 8C61E171-DCAB-4133-968B-040C67BD5045.png19FB38B2-AC84-400B-8EB2-C8CBFB2B6AF6.png

Yeah, I’m actually not convinced that many areas east of the mountains get much below 36-38 either tonight or tomorrow night. First we all know CAA will be delayed a bit longer than forecasted due to the downslope wind that will be strong this evening and help keep temps up some and then like was pointed out earlier short range models are already starting the WAA late tomorrow and even have some breeze starting to get kicked up. As far as daytime temperatures are concerned, I would surprised if they don’t verify several degrees higher than most guidance anyway... I’ve always found it really difficult to not warm temperatures up quickly under full sunshine and dry air this time of the year, and keep in mind we have over 13 hours of daylight now. I don’t really think anyone east of the mountains stays below 60 tomorrow and the NWS point forecasts appear to agree with that.

Downsloping spiking temps into the low 80s for some folks today ahead of the cold front.

So last night / early this morning was actually really impressive for this late in April. I’m attaching the radar image from middle Tennessee at around 2:00am this morning. This line was moving slow and was dropping all snow in White House at this time. The snow was heavy at times but temp never dropped below 34 so not to much accumulated. I did end up with my first ever April dusting on the roof tops this morning however.73DC07B8-FDD9-44FF-8B2C-0BF673CE52E7.jpeg6C57331D-D48B-420A-8564-99D263233A8A.jpeg

RAH just dumped a freeze warning out for much of their CWA. I’m near the edge with a forecast low of 33. Rural areas nearby might see freezing, though it’s doubtful here. We’ve got another chance tomorrow night, too.

Really surprised they’re are putting out freeze warnings for tonight. Temperatures have definitely over performed a bit today and the winds tonight should keep things safe from the freezing mark.
