Let's do this!!

Bruh like are we seeing this? What’s happening? This pattern just went into full winter time mode... where’s the SER dominate February pattern .. people have been calling for warmth all winter and it’s been the opposite and now we’re seeing the winter weather chances rapidly pick up in response to the overwhelming -NAO and stratospheric warming events

IKR, this is absolutely the opposite of what I expected. I mean, wasn't this supposed to be an nina year? Lol!!

Or at the very least it’s gonna be a roller coaster ride like Feb 1989 for ex
That month was crazy. Start out above 80, then get a glancing blow in NC and SC from the coldest airmass of the season. Then a brief warmup before our coldest air of the season comes in. Back to 75 here in Jonesville 30 hours before the start of a fairly serious ice storm. Then warm again before a snow event towards the end of the month.

If my memory is correct, February 1989 had at least four or five 80 degree days in Concord, but it also had 2 decent snows
Not sure we had that many 80 degree days down here in Union county SC, but we did have at least 1 and several days very close. 1 decent snow here and an ice storm. Not sure we'll ever see another month like it.

Yeah, I remember the ice storm was on the weekend of the Daytona 500... it was more of big sleet storm for Concord though and ended with with about 3 inches of snow. Then like you said, it warmed back up a for several days then we saw a 9 inch snow ( much of eastern NC had over a foot) followed by a low the next day down around 10. Then 2 days later it was back close to 70.
