Lgt snow just started again 34.3/33 Now if I can get these darn chains on my tires.

Had that earlier[moon visible].
Ceilings have come back down now and the air feels way more winter weatherish, colder than a few hours ago. Icy flakes. Decent size, but on an off. Should get going real good/consistent between 2 to 6pm then hopefully swing all the way to the coast ,knock on wood.

Anyone noticing the bands moving NW from the TN/NC border south of Knoxville? I’m wondering how that might play out in the next few hours. Anybody?
Were they in the WSW area? I stand corrected, then. I’ve just noticed a lot of the modeling has been shafting that area the last couple days. That area doesn’t average much snow considering it’s in the mountains, I think their snow climo is around Greensboro’s.

It’s is Maggie....our drive was salted, brined, and shoveled this morning by the property owner. I think the roads are white. We are about to venture out I believe.
It's close for us this evening and should be fun/painful to watch. Gotta like the band of fgen extending back over us this evening but we are going to be waiting for enough caa to flip
Do keep in mind that Maggie Valley is in a good upslope spot with a NW wind, especially on the west side where the flow comes through the gap

Had some nice big parachutes for a few minutes in north High Point. It’s gone back to mostly sleet now though.

Latest HRRR does push the late day band a little bit northward allowing almost all of Wake to get some accumulations. That little spot (of less than 1") on the north end of the county is me.
Thought we didn't have much of anything this morning, until I just looked outside and noticed some sleet/snow is the roof valleys of the neighbors' houses. Did have the smallest amount of slush on my grill this morning around 7.
