Can confirm that cooling. Down to 37.9 and the DP is still at 35 so will probably drop the temperature a little more.
Somebody explain to me why NWS put me under a winter storm warning for 4 to 8 inches of heavy wet snow, then they tweet out a graphic showing expected snowfall 2 to 3 inches?

Is the 4-8” more for the higher elevations of Surry County?

Yeah, they had me at a low of 37 tonight and it’s 37 now! Had no idea temps and crashed that fast. I was at 47 two hours ago.
I haven’t seen any flakes here, but definitely some onset sleet when it finally reached the surface. 38F

He's been right on top of this, so far. He's the only one talking about ATL and GA trends.
Thank you... February 2015, January 2017, and December 2018 were all very frustrating here. Trying not to get to excited now, but it’s certainly nice to see things trending better the closer we get.

Good video from the NWS in Raleigh.
In Jasper, Ga ... snow starting to mix in with rain in heavier return at the moment. Probably rate driven ... sitting about 39 degrees.
