I think as far as ATL went, the days were a bit "cooler" than normal, but what got our overall temps up were the overnight lows with cloud cover were warmer than normal. That coupled with "heat island" effects would tend to increase the "normal" (30 year average) tempsI'm not sure why, but for some reason May seemed cooler than normal. Maybe that's because i'm so used to it being 5-10 degrees above normal every month. Atlanta still finished above normal for May and that makes 16 straight months of AN temps I believe.
If it's any consolation, the Weekly Climate Anomalies going through June are not nearly as bad as the last GFS run -Holy hell the LR heat wave in the gfs. Thank goodness it's post truncation
