Misc Jukin June

Looks good to me. Below average at this point is still high 80s, with the occasional low mid 80s but it's better than what the other option is.

Yeah 80s ain't nothing unless you're in the mid to high 70s DPs. I was at the coast last year and it was in the mid 90s with upper 70s DPs yuck.

Upper 70s for highs forecasted for next week imby. I feel like I'm in heaven. We had several days with a heat index of 120 in mid June last year. It was by far the hottest June I ever remember.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason May seemed cooler than normal. Maybe that's because i'm so used to it being 5-10 degrees above normal every month. Atlanta still finished above normal for May and that makes 16 straight months of AN temps I believe.

I think as far as ATL went, the days were a bit "cooler" than normal, but what got our overall temps up were the overnight lows with cloud cover were warmer than normal. That coupled with "heat island" effects would tend to increase the "normal" (30 year average) temps

Holy hell the LR heat wave in the gfs. Thank goodness it's post truncation

Guess no weather riot incited in Cell Block #9 today ...

I have a wonderful live version of that, off of the soundboard, but for the life of me do not know how to share an mp3 or other audio via PM - otherwise I'd send it to you ...
Put it on vinyl, then download it! :)

Looking a bit cooler than average next week especially early on. Forecast has highs 78, 79, 77 respectively first three days. Not bad for June!

Not liking the heat ridge look in the extended but it looks like the worst of the heat will be to our north

Since we're lit up like a Christmas tree today, I won't dominate the rap ... just quickly sharing some maps that suggest June may not be too bad at least until week 4 ----> water and some cool temps (yes - there are some warm periods showing up but they are looking transient for at least 3 weeks). Now so as not to reign over the discussion, here's turning it back over ...

In the heat of the sun a man died of cold ...

Drought is all but gone in my state . The rain over the last three weeks has all but about 10 percent in my state drought free
Here's hoping for 0% region wide - and it could happen ....

w/o a named storm, no less!

After up and down and so on and so forth (though not bad at all), the 18Z GFS teases us with this at the end of truncation ... LOL ...

Beautiful Saturday for sure! 88.4 this afternoon and 63.7 this morning! Definitely could feel the increase in humidity this evening as my body turned into a sweat waterfall when mowing the lawn around 8 this evening. Yuck.

Lol, what in the world is going on w/ the ECMWF and GFS. 5 day N hem skill scores for both models fell below 0.80.

That's not a good thing to see at all, with 2 not models verifying lower than normal. What do we trust more? The CBC? Lol.

Other than that looking to be a stormy day here, and I am finally out of the drought here.:)

Maybe all the rain weve had lately will keep the heat away for most of the summer. After all, its hard to get really hot with a wet ground right ?
