Pattern June Presented by: Heat and Humidity

I just got some ugly LP structure, tilted updraft and a lowering, rain free base, and a very very weak rotating column, I had to speed up my timelapse to see it, that column has fallen apart and it’s now baseless 3125833E-FC84-4955-82E7-0BE43A3ACB20.jpeg

A lot on this board want to try La Nina since the last 2 favorable El Ninos were duds! Honestly though I never want to hear La Nina because odds are it'll behave just like La Nina, warm and dry and dominated by a SER.
I’ll gladly take it. Snowy La Ninas are usually generous to the RDU-CLT corridor, the snowier ninos often have big gradients in the piedmont and leave the eastern piedmont shafted!

Somehow got completely missed here in Cary by those storms moving through the triangle. Pretty surreal, actually, seeing towers on all four sides while there's blue sky directly above. It's what I'd imagine being inside the eye of a hurricane would be like.

Looks like some more downpours are developing along the cold front in eastern Alabama. I wonder if these will continue to develop and hold on long enough to bring one last downpour here later tonight. Already picked up around half an inch from two separate showers today.564820F1-9009-4943-AEE2-21187A4DD959.png

A cold front in Mid June in the deep South ? ?

Another summer and another trail of record high minimum temperatures broken at the Ft. Lauderdale airport weather stations. We've broken records for the last four days with our warmest overnight low only dropping to 83 that tied the monthly record. Some of these daily records have been smashed by 2-3 degrees. And yes. Beating these records by those small margins is considered smashing it in S. FL cause the temperatures don't really vary that much in the Summer.

It also rained. I know. Boring. Orlando gets a friggen tornado, and all we got is the heat and humidity. It's really starting to bum me out. I went to a therapist about it, and she diagnosed me with tropical depression. There's no none cure for humans, but scientists are hard at work attempting to put wind shear inside a pill capsule. As soon as I wrote this in a post, I realized that isn't funny, and also, I might be turning into my dad.

Got this, but no lightning again, Haven’t had a legit lightning storm since late April, getting any lightning photos have been hard to come by, getting extremely frustrated 11FE3F5E-6CF4-468A-9307-F58037D3BB70.png

Ngl with that upper level low getting close Monday, looks like a pretty solid setup for hail given cold 500mb temps (<-10C), steep mid level lapse rates and increased 0-6km shear, pretty good summer hail setup, also notice modeled soundings with fat HGZs like this one 3DE1382F-78E8-48FC-A84D-B698BEA93085.pngB9661227-0140-4C62-8375-B299B80B317C.png929C2C2F-26E3-431F-8E6C-2DE5BBC53D52.png

FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR RALEIGH....MULTIPLE INCHES OF RAIN POSS TODAY.

Doubt we will have storms here today since we had the rain this morning. Sun is trying to peek out, so maybe it could help make things soupy for storms to fire up. But it's been that way the last two days here and all I had was two rumbles of thunder and a lightning flash with the rain last night. I miss the 80s when it seemed like we had a good storm here at least once a week in summer.

I'm not a fan of the best moisture axis sliding through and to our east as we speak. On the flip side the front is still back to the west, we may end up with a 2nd line that gets going just to our west or over us later today especially if we can get the sun out and shoot into the mid 80s

Well, it's back to a steady light rain here. If this keeps up into the afternoon I doubt we'll have enough sun to create the spark for storms.

There’s a Nice Lee trough in place, should get things going for areas near CLT/I-77 and East through ENC later

75.5F at 1PM with dark blue skies on June 11th. :)

Rain has stopped here. Looks like the sun is trying to come out. Guess we'll see if we get enough to create the spark needed for storms here.

Of course a nice line of storms formed east of Wake County.

The cold front hasn't even traversed the mountains yet... Plenty of fuel for storm development. Looks to be a very active week or so for the Carolina's. GA and the TN Valley are going to bone dry for the next week, so it could be way worse.

We probably picked up a quarter of an inch or so earlier. I really need to invest in a rain gauge/weather station.

The one I was going to give you says 4.48 in the last 24 hours. I think I might take the L on that one I can't adjust it to be correct

Did it fall in a creek or something?
