congrats Charlotte. Might as well be the new northern Wilkes. All we hear about is Charlotte this Charlotte that. After all this I wouldn’t support giving them a new radar for coverage what about further north for Wilkes?

Next week is trending towards a deluge, synoptically the upper low is further east than several weeks ago... for now anyways.
Another nice drop in dewpoints could be on the way. For this time of the year, this would be a gift folks.

We picked up .42" last night which is the most we've had in a while. The ground still seemed pretty moist though from all the winter rain.Just under 1/2" of rain here today. Hard to believe that's the most in a day in nearly 2 weeks (May 27th). And a semi-decent rainbow just a minute ago, too.
These last two days working down here in Sumter have been the hottest of the year for me. Suffocating heat. It’s about all your body can take

I’m shocked the radar is already juicy for western SC/NC before 10am. Should help trigger more storms closer to i77 after lunch and more this evening for the piedmont

For some reason the large majority of storms in spring and so far this summer have stayed south of Wake County. Most of the time they have moved from Charlotte to Fayetteville.
Yeah it’s significantly hindering updrafts and lightning production right now
Things should improve as we head into the evening though. Hoping for some boomers this evening/tonight.
Yet again these things have decent winds, this one I just got was stronger, probably had a Quick 45 mph gust with it
Starting to see more green (30kft+) suggesting updrafts are generally increasing in strength

Welp, suck again. With all the convection 15 miles se there's now way it won't stabilize me for later. Unbelievable! 0.2 for June and about to screw up my last shot fir awhile.

Going to be a rough 3 months in the GSP metro I'm afraid. Some places will be lucky to get a drop until Sept. We somehow got .35 here today but not looking for anymore for a while.
