For me it’s just a prediction maybe a nutty one. But I do think if socialism truly takes over. You would have spark a violent group who refuses to go with a socialist Government. That’s what I predict not what I’m calling for I hope nothing like that happens. But I also would not Blame people for defending there rights and freedoms

I get you. I don't think socialism will cause a civil war. For one thing, it won't be like we go to bed one night under capitalism and wake up the next morning under socialism. And for another thing, if we were to have a civil war, it would be because a huge amount of the population was being actively persecuted or actively oppressed. It would be a far more active invasion than an intrusion of political ideology and message board divisions and rogue cops. Now, we may get there one day, but it won't be soon.

We ha e a new angle of video. It wasnt one officer all 3 had their weight on the guy and he is even saying they are hurting his stomach. They crushed and suffocated this man to death. Doesnt matter what he did leading up to that moment they had him under control. This was murder.

Don't know if you seen this one but it has a longer video, no commentary, of the incident. Shows it from the inital contact when the first two officers park and walk across street to the George's vehicle and shows him placed in handcuffs, sat down outside a business and then walked across the street still handcuffed. Unfortunately, this camera from business stops before we see what transpired and has the civilian's camera pick up with George on the other side of the vehicle and the two additional officers on scene.

I can you only hope these cops go to prison and get what they deserve everyday for the rest of their useless lives. Fu**ing pigs

"Allow me to retort" well let me play devils advocate here. In this thread there are posters, not you persay, but people who see socialism as an "injustice" and seem to think a civil war would be started over abuses by govt.

Why would those calling for civil war not be seen as the same negative light as these rioters? The reaction is the same just different injustices.

I haven’t seen anyone saying they want a civil war to start. All I’ve seen is people saying one could start if a socialistic government were to try to start taking away people’s rights.

But back to the topic, what the police officer did was clearly murder and the others involved would count as accomplices in it since they watched and did nothing (and even participated in it). All of them should be held accountable and I’m a big fan of capital punishment... although I doubt they get that sentence. At the same time people burning down stuff, looting, etc. will not solve the problem here and hurts innocent people who have their property damaged or destroyed by these rioters.

I believe this could lead to civil war. So I agree.

I have a lot of questions about this. For one thing what happened to George Floyd is horrible and the officer who is placing his leg on his neck needs to be charged for murder. A lot of these situations involving police is usually a split second judgement incident where the officer is usually deploying his firearm. Think we can all agree even in a split second decision if it's wrong and was an unlawful use of force the officer needs to be fired and charged appropriately which we have seen that occur. This particular incident is just different. This wasn't a split second decision, this wasn't a fight with a subject who was reaching for the officer's firearm or placing an officer in fear. This was a slow, evil, process where the officer literally strangled a guy with his leg in broad daylight, with witnesses around filming him, at an intersection...Now speaking from experience, if a suspect was placed in custody and he was refusing to get in the back of the vehicle after being placed under arrest, other officers who assist and we will get him in the back of the unit even if we have to go around in the other side and drag him in. There is four to five total officers on scene. There is no reason at all five officers can not get him in the back of that unit. Then to make it worse, we know he was handcuffed from the beginning of the incident, while he is lying there on the ground and the one officer has his leg on his throat, you can hear another officer saying, "get up, just get up man. Just get in the car, get up." Then George saying, "I can't get up." Officer then says something about "I told you, you can't win." Well no kidding he can't get up, your partners leg is pressing on his throat. You control a guy's head and you can control his body....LEO is not trained that position in the academy, and we see, videos before where officer's have placed there knee on a suspects back while they are trying to place a suspect in custody who was ACTIVELY RESISTING arrest, but when he is in custody, that's it, it's over, they remove their leg and sit the suspect up. That is how LEO are trained, the leg against the neck is not a trained technique, and per the chief of Minneapolis it's against policy. So not only is this one officer doing this, but you have three to four other's watching their partner do this, and not one of them cared to say, hey man get off his neck. If you get done tussling with a suspect and get him in custody you may get tunnel vision, angry, and in the heat of the moment, and other officer's will say hey man watch your leg, or let's sit him up now. Why do none of the officer's say anything? When he stops talking and moving no one checks his condition, no one tells their partner to move his leg, no one sits him up. When EMS arrives he keeps his leg there even when they check his pulse, why? He clearly hasn't moved or resisted for a while. There is better techniques to use, besides guy can only do so much while in handcuffs. Sorry for long rant, but this is policing.

Totally 100% agree. It was murder and these cops especially one with knee on his neck should be in prison rest of his life. Personally eye for an eye is preferred but that’s not way our system works.

Isn’t what is going on right now in Minneapolis. Just tell us how easy it is for violence to begin? This is a devastating this is sickening that people act like this. The officer should go to prison for murder but there shouldn’t be looting and fires set and people acting like this. So with all that said if this happen why would it be hard to believe a civil war could happen? If anything this just continues to show how shaky the United States are any issue people don’t like sets people off to act in despicable ways. This will not get better it’s only gonna get worse unfortunately and it’s sad!

The president is advocating violence against those he disagrees with politically. If you are still supporting him, it's hard to interpret that as anything other than advocating violence against the same, including other members on this site.
Some of you need to take a moment or two and think about what your support is enabling and what it is a reflection of in yourself.

That’s your opinion I’m apologize if you think I support violence. But I do not support violence. I believe in freedom and rights. I believe if a government official knocks on your door to take your guns people should defend there right to bare arms. But that’s not supporting violence it’s defending your freedom and your rights. That’s just my opinion of course. And you have the right to your own personal opinion as you clearly stated

I personally think the cop that placed his knee on George's neck should hang from a tree until dead, and the other cops should sit in prison for the rest of their lives for being accomplices to murder, IF, after all of the evidence brought to trial, and the jury finds them guilty. It looks like there is a lot of incriminating evidence, too. I would hope they have a speedy trial and sentencing.

Also, all of the rioters and thieves need to be rounded up and likewise charged for their crimes. Here is a legitimate use for the national guard. They need to declare martial law in some of these localities and start shooting looters on sight. It will quickly come to an end if they do so.

In one sense we have slowing been becoming socialist or some capitalist/socialist hybrid for the last century or so. The Fabian socialists made it their aim to slowly implement socialism by taking control of the western educational institutions. That has by and large been accomplished.

In my view, it's only a matter of time before we become completely socialist in the mold of western European nations. It will probably happen when the Democrats regain control of both houses of congress and the White House--which could be very soon. My fear all along with a Trump presidency is that he would so damage the Republican party that the pendulum would swing radically in the other direction.

Yep people so damn determined to win the battle they fail to see it loses the war......still the blame is at the peoples fault we keep letting the extreme fringe run the parties and give voices to nitwits like Trump....luckily I am not fatalistic about this, I think there will be a NEEDED balance between socialism and capitalism, in order to survive the US needs both.....its up to the American people to reign in both sides and keep the country on the right course.
