Remember that not all cases are recorded as well. We have to see how things go really because look at the case count today and look at it in a week. I think we near a million in a week.

Hope this is over soon these lockdowns. As some have already said. Come May the hard choice is going to have to be made. Open everything back up and let chips fall where they may or face possibilities of something worse than the Great Depression along with social unrest. Or govt can just kick can down road and send more checks out to everyone. Eventually when hyperinflation and the the collapse does happen it will be ugly. Anyone that does not believe eventually the collapse happens is blinded. Now it could be 3/5/10 years but it will happen.

Since I can’t post in Caronavirus thread. Look basically closing down all non essential businesses in sc. that’s basically a order to stay home. Governor McMaster even said yesterday stay home if you don’t know to stay home by now. Your missing something because he’s been saying stay home!

You do understand that Trump has turned to Big Government to try and bail us out of the Covid crisis not increasing free market captialism. We are now for the next few weeks basically a country under hardline socialism.

This post and many others on this page are quintessential examples of why you & @Jessy89 were banned from posting in the CoV-19 thread. Both of you are so far removed from reality and really the rest of the forum & society in general, it stopped becoming laughable weeks ago even by the most ardent "trumpets".

Despite the blame that should befall both parties, it's almost like one political party STILL isn't taking this anywhere near as seriously as the other. Honestly not sure what these people and states are waiting for, but one could easily conclude they are not only putting their own constituents at risk, but neighboring states, it's easy to see at a national level ,what waiting for more cases to emerge in your area has done to strain the response of local hospitals (which are not only dealing w/ capacity problems, don't have the necessary supplies to protect their workers).

It's truly deplorable that Trump and his administration has refrained from issuing a nationwide lockdown, but I expect nothing less from him.

Most of the state lock downs are symbolic nonsense. They really do not differ from what AL already has in place besides the actual order to stay home. Until they actually contain restrictions on travel, check points, curfews and time slotted at stores, ect, and actual penalties, they really are just feel good laws.

They're definitely not, the statewide lockdowns are in fact enforceable by law and you can be fined or thrown in jail for not adhering to them (I have to cary proof of employment every time I go to work now in NC, this was mandated by Harris Teeter in response to our state's lockdown), suggestions and half-a**ed lockdowns in portions of the state or to a few operations by these 12 republican governors are not however. Doing nothing as ND, SD, NE, IA, & AR have done, is completely idiotic and indefensible at this stage in the crisis but again not surprised given how the GOP has handled this thus far.

And how do you enforce a national lockdown in a nation of 300 million people? With guns? grenades? tanks? drone strikes? Its just words. The effort it would take for such a thing is IMPOSSIBLE to enforce. The majority of people are doing as good a job as can be done in isolating themselves which is more than likely the reason those states haven't issued anything yet if they even will. Its note a 1 size fits all answer

So your state is actively doing check points to see who is following the law and limit travel? I’m not defending AL or the government here because they are mostly idiots on the best sunny day. I have read the “lock down” order in NC and they allow you to leave your home for lots of reasons. Unless something has changed, no curfew is in place. I’m of the opinion if you are gonna lock down, lock down. Have check points, put limits on Walmart and Home Depot. Slow county to county travel.

No they aren't doing check points and as the Gov stated the other day, IF they stop someone they will encourage them to adhere to the order. Only flagrant repeat offenders will most likely be charged and that is entirely at the discretion of local law enforcement and the District Attorney. While most businesses have told employees to carry ID or some sort of verification of employment, it's not necessary. The Dir of Emergency Management the other day even stated individuals did not need documents or permits with them. As you mentioned they are just "feel good orders".

I appreciate your psychology exam on us both. Good thing you are not a psychologist because your prognosis of many would be wrong meaning you would be a terrible one at that. I read what you say and your wx input is really good. I am not going to put you down because I do not want to stoop to your level. Everyone has a right to their beliefs and opinions. I’ll also say this I also think banning people from a thread in which is a national crises. Is a pretty dirty and wrong thing to do. Just my opinion but everyone should be welcome to discuss a crisis that’s effecting everyone in some way shape or form. Opinions people don’t agree with shouldn’t ban anyone during a time like this.
