Misc 2020 Banter Thread

That ego bruises softer than a pear. ohhhh the irony.... omg... it's literally dripping with irony and hypocrisy. You could hit that with a Kettle and it would be argued it was not a Pot...
 
So I read somewhere that if you are an adult dependent you won't receive a stimulus check. But what are they basing that on ? Last year's tax filings ? This year's ? If they are basing it on last year's, what if you were a dependent then but no longer are as of this year ?
 
It really is boring without sports. If MLB didn't get postponed I'd have watched 5 Braves games by now, at least most of them since the games were in the west to start (actually probably more baseball then that and some other games). That really hasn't been too long but it feels like it's been over a month. Although I did take the free NFL subscription, outside of replays, for me there's only so much else I can do in entertainment, since I lean toward true crime (it'd have been almost nothing if I didn't discover Homicide Hunter pretty much by accident on Christmas a few months back...and that Christmas feels like it was a lifetime ago, it's not just Homicide Hunter for me, I'm trying with other shows since I found I liked that one).

That's probably my second primary reason with hoping that we truly do stay away from going to total ****.

Read some literature? Watch some amazing tv shows? Lots of stuff to do without sports. I miss baseball as much as the next gal, but hey, use this time to discover a new writer you might enjoy, a poet, read some Noam Chomsky or something.. lol
 
I was hopeful about MLB having a short season, but it's increasingly not likely.. NFL 2020 will happen though, I guarantee....
 
I'm essential so I'm still working like normal so this isn't hitting me as hard as some other people certainly

My biggest gripe is that I can't sit down in a restaurant lol

we're also not on a full lockdown here though(I'm technically the county north of Dallas) and our order isn't as strict as theirs

Oh I also need to get some dental work done and they are all closed pretty much
 
Im driving to Dallas later this week and I noticed they are doing a 14 day quarantine for anyone entering the state of Texas from Louisiana. I guess I will drive through Arkansas and enter Texas that way.

What brings you to Dallas, you should know most of it is on a total lockdown right now unless you're essential

but yeah the Governor isn't playing

It's almost as if we're in a country where you're allowed to discuss your political views freely without fear of it being continuously muted or suppressed by others & we're like.... facing a national crisis or something where the actions of local, state, and federal political leaders will have a very profound impact on your daily life for the foreseeable future, people are concerned about it and want to discuss it on a regular basis because there's absolutely nothing else to talk about.

Big if true.
 
I think we need to start combining some of these counties and towns. I’m glad to see North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro talking about a merger. Helps with grants and more representation. I think Elkin, Dobson and Jonesville should all merge into North Yadkin.

Something needs to be done and quick. Dakota’s yes but West Virginia needs a new name and a new start at life.
