Dropping fast here 37/20 now
35/21 here. I wasn't expecting it to drop this fast. We will see what happens once the cloud deck rolls in. This is going to be interesting.Dropping fast here 37/20 now
If y'all want ice, then by God, I'm rootin' for you ...![]()
Yep, that does happen sometimes. Mostly in very shallow stale wedges.I bet temp will shoot up 5 degrees or more once the clouds roll in, I’ve seen it too many times.

Because it rains 12 months out of the year. Something different is nice from time to timeYour image doesn't load, so I'm responding a bit in the dark ... serious for those who want it, shaking my head as to why ...

I could say that from July to October about a big rain storm with a name ... but I'd be shaking my head doing so ...Because it rains 12 months out of the year. Something different is nice from time to time
Funny that I'm at 36/21 too. I wasn't even supposed to get anything, maybe this will end up a bust?Kinda catching me off guard, temp dropping quick and DP has dropped about 2 degrees, hrrr says I wasn’t getting below 34-35, WBZ is 31 View attachment 27902

41 over 21-22 in Charlotte yields a wet bulb of about 33-34F. Cold rain FTL![]()
Crazy what the difference of going north a few miles does, around concord the wet bulb is 31-33, my closest weather station wet bulb is 31.7
Really needs to get down to about 30F or so to do some serious damage and I'm doubtful this will be the case in Charlotte anyways. There were several events last year where CLT had 33F & rain while areas just north had a little ice, the urban heat island certainly plays a role.
Yeah, CLT has gotten away with Ice in these types of situations, and just had some SE winds which bumped the temp up to 37.8, wondering if maybe we could see a brief sleet pellet or 2 with evaporative cooling with that band moving towards the upstate
Surface wet bulb map as of 1z. The northern & far western piedmont of NC certainly seems primed for a light glaze w/ wet bulbs in the upper 20s-near 30F, probably going to be too warm near the NC-SC border & points south.
