Looks like it's going to be maybe half an inch of snow here starting this afternoon, Mets have settled on that.

12Z NAM still giving the TN Valley of north Alabama a shot at some minor accums later today. Looks slightly better than the 06Z run.
The HRRR is not impressed.
NWS Huntsville Twitter mentioning reports of sleet mixing in NW AL. Discussion states expectation of switchover to snow for Huntsville around 1400. No travel impacts expected, but hopefully will be pretty to see it fall.

Rain/Sleet just changed over to light snow in midtown Florence within past 10 minutes. Little earlier than forecast I think.

Snowing pretty good in Oxford miss. Traffic cams showing grass starting to turn white.
Verbal and video evidence there is now sleet AND snow on Research Parkway in Huntsville AL.
Nashville is getting the shaft hard this afternoon. Dry air just eats the heck out of any snow that tries to push in from the West.

Yep the gfs busted on this one. Temp has been at 34-35 all day with light and I mean very light snow pellets.If not for the dry air we could have at least got around an inch or so north of Nashville. I’m probably not even going to look at the gfs anymore as it seems even worse then before the upgrade. It had a consistent clown map of 5-6 inches when all other models were forcasting a half to one inch of snow for this event. The gfs is utter garbage!!
Where are all the Knoxville peeps ? According to someone on the other board, SREF plumes is at 1.8".

Just got a special weather statement saying there could be flurries over this way tonight. That was unexpected. However, to me the precip is holding longer than what was modeled so maybe.
Well it's not much but apparently the system has held together enough to have Special Weather statements/Hazardous weather outlooks for parts of North/North-West GA even down to areas like Paulding County and Cobb so it's over-performing compared to models for our neck of woods.
Well, SE TN...we don't this often...Memphis and Nashville getting the shaft, while it's raining in Knoxville, but wintry here in the Chattanooga area. As the saying goes, pics or it didn't happen.

Snowing here in Red Bank, suburb of Chattanooga. Fatty flakes, way too warm to stick. Scared to look at radar and see where the precip shield is located.
Now mixed with sleet, no more giant flakes.. lol Wish this was coming in a few hours later..
ridgetops around town likely going to see 2-3 inches from this little system that could/sorta.
all sleet now at my house, 34 degrees.. warm air is winning I guess.
Finally got some ripping fatties that have laid down some accumulation.
now it's trying to switch back to snow.. lol This is going to drive me batty.
Looks like your fighting some warm layers all the way up through 700mb, when it switches to snow your probably going to a isothermal/layer that’s mostly 0C from 950-700mb, just a little nudge of that into positive territory easily changes you back to sleet
