Snow virga in Wilkes. Pray for me. Signing off for the winter.
It's only fitting that the winter ends with another cold rain for RDU.
Im surprised its not snowing in central, west, north, south, northeast, northwest, southwest wake county

Energy is transferring to the coastal now, that low should really ramp up during the next few hours. Gusts along the coast could be well into tropical storm force range.

I had a nice burst of moderate to heavy snow for about 5-10 ish minutes and now it’s changing over to sleet. Lol I swear every single winter storm around here always has sleet at some pt even when there’s not really supposed to be

Yeah I read a little about the sting jet and it seems the 3km NAM might be trying to pick up on that. Good thing it'll be out over open water, hopefully no boats will be in the area.
Hold on Webber I think we will get some heavier rates for a little bit

Lol yeah mixing always seems to be an issue in most of our winter storms. What's the temp there?

For me that award goes to the January 3rd, 2018 storm. Radar looked like this but snow barely made it up to Orangeburg/Sumter. Got about 10 minutes of flurries and had to wait 2 weeks until I was rewarded with a whole 20 minutes of snow and sleet mixed with rainSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Little more snow mixing in snow on UNCC campus .. this is still a huge WIN for us ... we even have a big -NAO to look forward to?
Has anyone on this board actually seen accumulating snow from this storm?

I had about 0.1" on a few elevated surfaces earlier but it since melted away once we changed over to rain/sleet mix
