HRRR simulated radar for 11am this morning, wants to pound Atlanta

I was talking about the MGM to ATL corridor, but look at the hose of moisture all the way down to Texas!

If my snow would hurry, i can easy get 1-3" maybe more. The snow is literally about 15 min from me

Sorry buddy!!! Same on the south side of Atlanta.

You have some time to make it work though, HRRR forecasts a changeover to heavy, wet snow around 11am as heavier precipitation moves in and melts enough hydrometeors to push the melting layer to the ground

This precipitation type map and associated algorithm lines up pretty well with correlation coefficient in north GA and AL, should go over to snow in the Atlanta metro once the heavier precipitation to the south & west moves in

KCHS noticed within the flow there have been gravity wave features within the flow. One crosses GA from 18z to 21z tonight and there could be more within the realm of waves of LP crossing thru.

Latest 12km NAM has snow falling for my area till about 1pm tomorrow. I think I'll get at least 3-4" max, maybe, we'll see.

NWS RAH finally pulled the trigger on winter weather advisories but for areas NW of Raleigh. 1-2" in the advisory w/ up to 3" or more possible in "snow islands"

What does this mean...wind or enchance snow?

This would cause atmospheric ducting and around a wave you could get some insane lifting rates.
