Got a pretty intense thunderstorm earlier where I was as it moved over, probably 40-50mph winds, definitely the strongest I’ve seen this summer

How is this even possible? The latitude of the arctic circle , is in Canada!! How can all time record be higher when it’s closer to the N pole and same latitude as Russia?! Insanity!

Iowa is in the mid latitudes , it’s most northerly point is not even half way to the North Pole . So false try again , learn some geography will you !

The record happened at 50 N which is still a solid 17 degrees south of the Arctic circle , although it is a bit closer to the North Pole than it is to the equator .

Iowa has higher all time high records than any of the Southeastern states as well and it's a much higher latitude. Fun fact: Hawaii is the state with the lowest all time high in the country(98 degrees).

So far, this week hasn't been as bad as originally feared.

Monday was the only cool/rainy day. Yesterfay and today have featured hoghs at/above 90*F and partly cloudy skies after the morning stratus breaks up.

It's ultimately only been slightly below normal, thanks to the overnight lows around average..

SW probably. If the front isn't too fast Friday some hints that we have a corridor of big time totals. I doubt rah goes with a FFW but I wouldn't be surprised if they mention considering it. Cell motion may turn from W to E to S to N and overlap some areas as well as train

A Flash Flood Watch was strongly
considered for the Piedmont to account for that
