Definitely not good, if things don’t change soon we are gonna reach a pt where really only a tropical cyclone can change our fortunesWell to quote @Tarheel1 drought begets drought..... that was a big fat goose egg this morning
Shetley??? Is that you!? ??Definitely not good, if things don’t change soon we are gonna reach a pt where really only a tropical cyclone can change our fortunes
Wooo Hoooo! I bet that means another MiDukee El Nino for next winterThis doesn’t seem good , if it becomes our only hope!?View attachment 19804
I think the anomalies in the Pacific need to be re-evaluated. +2 degrees C needs to be the new weak El-Nino threshold. This past winter's forcing was more La-Nina like than El-Nino.Wooo Hoooo! I bet that means another MiDukee El Nino for next winter![]()
If that was a La Niña like winter, I never want another La Niña winter again!I think the anomalies in the Pacific need to be re-evaluated. +2 degrees C needs to be the new weak El-Nino threshold. This past winter's forcing was more La-Nina like than El-Nino.
We don't know anymore simple as that... what was normal isn't normal, what brings winter weather doesn't, what suppose to drive the pattern doesn't, we are hopelessly clueless at this point. If that was a La Niña like winter, I never want another La Niña winter again!
HahaThat rain shield isn't huge but its powerful, not a drop.... busting rain like a log splitter Lol![]()

Anyone remember the last time we had a below normal December? Oh yea that was 2010, we’ve gone nearly a decade straight without a single below average Dec. The chances this would happen without global warming are very slim and/or virtually none
It hasn’t happened before across the nearly entirety of the se US even though you can feel free to cherry pick individual locations or time periods that were similarly anomalous. It’s very obvious that we are rigging the system towards warmth and that anomalies like these are becoming more likely because of fossil fuel combustionIt has happened before, from 1920 to 1929 the avg December temp in GSO was above 41.0 every year. A one year break in 1930 and then it went above 44.0 for 3 more consecutive years. That is 13 of 14 years above average (40.0 is historical average for Dec)
Only 120 days away. ???is it fall yet

The GFS sucks, the FV3 sucks, the Euro sucks, the CMC sucks, the ICON sucks, the GEFS sucks, the EPS sucks, the Brazilian sucks..... time to go back to the weather rock and just be prepared for anything

Why don't we just make our own model? Call it some name and hand draw it once a day in MS paint and it'll be more reliable than the models I'm sure. The GFS sucks, the FV3 sucks, the Euro sucks, the CMC sucks, the ICON sucks, the GEFS sucks, the EPS sucks, the Brazilian sucks..... time to go back to the weather rock and just be prepared for anything

Might I add that even in there as divisive as it is, refrain from comments that certainly could be perceived as personal attacks.... thanks for letting me add my .02 admiral. Now back to regularly scheduled wambulous complaining.Ladies and gentlemen while I enjoy banter let's step away from the ledge of the flat earth and drop the GW chatter. Its an obviously divisive topic and has its own thread. Thx mgmt
