Misc Sports Thread

I'd like to see the Steelers tonight, but i'm not paying for Amazon or NFL network.
 
Some really good college games today. Looks like Georgia is gonna win. Thats too bad. Was hoping Texas would lose too but they won in overtime.
 
Is it too early to say the panthers ------ up and should have taken Stroud?
 
As everyone knows now. Jimbo is out at Texas a&m…. 76 million buyout. Damn. Fire me too. But word is they r coming after every coach possible starting at the top … they have the money also with all big oil backers as boosters down there … could be another raise for Saban and Kirby smart coming lol

Planning on making my first trip ever to chapel hill this coming Wednesday watch my Vols take on. North Carolina Tar Heels … lot us vol fans planning making trip which should be a great game … where is a great place to eat around the area. Thanks for the input

Can't go wrong with Merritt's grill, Al's burger shack, Mediterranean Deli, Linda's, or Sutton's drug store. Excited to play yall

thanks so much so grest…. Y’all looked great today without Ryan playing also …. Hope he plays Wednesday night , I love the hustle and sharp shooting brings …. We have gone stone cold from the outside. We are coming off two tough losses against Kansas and Purdue, should be great game

Yeah, can't stand Alabama. Just watched Florida get beat by FSU. Most undisciplined team i have ever seen. Stupid penalties like spitting in opponents face and unnecessary roughness. They deserved to get beat.
 
I say Oregon beats Washington. Louisville may take FSU. I think the best 4 teams are Georgia, Michigan, Oregon and Ohio St.

I definitely think GA is the better more consistent team, that said over the past decade or so AL has destroyed the opponent in the SECCG after barely beating AU the week before.
 
It's going to be very interesting for the committee next weekend. Someone is getting left out, no matter what scenarios play out.

What we know for sure....

1.) Winner of the SEC Championship is in
2.) Michigan is in if they win
3.) Washington is in if they win
4.) FSU is in if they win (maybe)

Now....lets just say the following scenario plays out....

- Bama beats UGA
- Oregon beats Washington (firmly believe this happens)
- Louisville beats FSU (strong feeling this may happen)
- Texas wins
- Michigan wins

I think we see the following

1. Michigan
2. Texas
3. UGA
4. Bama

This is, of course, if they keep the mentality of the "full body of work", "best resume", etc.....You also have to remember to follow the $$$.....those 4 teams would bring the most revenue.

Thoughts?

Strong word out hearing is …. Bama beats Georgia that bama would get left out. Especially if Texas wins . Who knows

Either way someone's going to get left out and get the shaft. Maybe the 12 team playoff starting next year will be more fair about this kind of stuff. I know everybody's sick of Alabama but they have improved over the season, and still getting penalized for the one loss against Texas. I don't really see a strength of schedule taking into account this year.

That's the analysts narrative they want people to talk about, they are selling clicks, shares, likes, etc.....think like the committee.

I think the committee has been hoping that everything would work itself out, but it hasn't. At the end of the day, at any point in the regular season, if a #8 beats a #1, they would most definitely move up into the top 3 or 4. As much love as UGA has gotten, you would think that an Alabama win in the SEC Championship would be the trump card over any other 1 loss school. No resume would match Alabama's either with wins over Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia. To go along with the Georgia love comment, would 1 loss to a #8 Alabama be enough to knock them out of the picture? Assuming things play out as I described above....Who has the best wins, who has the best loss amongst all of the 1 loss teams? That would hands down be Alabama.....interesting situation about to unfold for sure.

I don't think Alabama gets in at all. Can't believe you left out Oregon. I would put Ohio St ahead of Alabama. TEXAS???? No way.
 
Thinking Georgia in if they win, Michigan is practically a lock, Washington in if they win. FSU is mid, I think they probably lose seeing how badly they played against a mediocre Gators team. Ohio State could sneak in though, I think the committee could favor them over Bama.

David Tepper is probably the worst team owner in the NFL and this is coming from a Colts fan who has dealt with the Irsay family owning that franchise for years. Tepper has fired a head coach every year he has owned the Panthers and the trade he authorized with the Bears before last year's draft has come back to bite the Panthers, especially if next year's first pick would have been a first overall pick. If I were an established head coach and Tepper came knocking on my door, I'd be tempted to slam it in his face.

I mean, look at what he's doing with the MLS team as well. He just fired the coach who got them to the playoffs.
