Vince would never have had that abortion of an exploding death match. He wouldn’t have the dark order working and none of the Japanese girls would see the light of day

Vince is the whole reason WWE has been awful for years.

AEW is Aweome!

As a big WCW fan growing up during the Monday night wars I stopped watching wrestling when WCW closed their doors in 2001. One of my good buddies has always watched wrestling and when he told me about AEW I watched All In and was hooked. Haven’t missed a weekly show nor a PPV. Blows away WWE.

I agree. I am glad something else came along because watching WWE felt like a chore. What did you think of the ending of Dynamite last night?

Vince wouldn't even dream of doing a match like that now because it isn't PG. WWE's product is so stale.

I loved that ending. I feel like they had to do some damage control after the explosion fiasco. That heel faction w MJF as the head is fantastic. FTR are gold. Can’t wait to see where they go with this. What did or do you think of Christian and Omega for the title? I’m guessing he can still go at 47 years old.

Does the AEW have enough name recognition in the stables to garner more fans, or do they need a few more household names in the industry to come on board with them to grow the organization?

They could use a few more household names in the Women's Division but with the men's no, they're set. I could see AEW getting a few women in WWE in the next few years cause their women's roster is bloated.

Ever since FTR got there and joined with Spears and Tully, I have been saying I would love to see a stable with them and either Cody or MJF as the head for a new Four Horsemen like stable. I thought Cody made sense with him already paired with Arn, but MJF is a great choice, too. He is the best heel they have now. He fits the Flair role, FTR fits the Arn and Ole role, Spears fits the Tully role, and Wardlow fits the Barry Wyndham and Sid Vicious role.

Pinnacle has arrived in AEW.

And the match between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa is just as good as anything WWE has done in years.

My wife use to watch wrestling and will sometimes stop on the wrestling shows. I want to rip my eyes out. Id rather have my legs waxed than watch 1 minute of wrestling.

Wrestlemania is this weekend. I personally don't care since I haven't watched any WWE in over a year.

AEW put on another solid show Wednesday night. The promo by Jericho at the beginning was awesome. Young Bucks finally turned heel to join Omega.

AEW Dynamite had 1.2 million viewers last night, wow!

It was a good show. The Bucks match with Fenix and Pac was great, and the Matt Hardy and Darby Allin match was pretty insane. I can't wait until they get the regular crowd baxk and start traveling again for Dynamite. It will make the shows even better. Hope it happens later this year.

I wonder if they'll choose to stay in Jacksonville or at least keep it as a semi regular location. It seems to be working well for Dynamite and is the home of Tony Kahn's Jaguars. Or perhaps Cody's home of Atlanta or both? Any thoughts?

Fenix is amazing to watch, especially when he walks the ropes! Hardy and Allin was insane.

I think they would start with a bigger crowd in Jacksonville and then start traveling later this year, after summer. There is talk of them going full capacity in Jacksonville for the next PPV in May.

AEW had another solid show last night. Good matches for the women's title and TNT title. Great promos by Jericho and MJF again.

I’m going to watch Aew double or nothing. Mostly to see how sting does in his first non cinematic match since 2015. He’s 63 so we will see.

Double or nothing was great last night. Sting is in amazing physical shape for 63. He moved around and looked great. He still got it. Also that stadium stamped match darn what a match that was. I’m not a all the time wrestling watcher but when I watch I like to be entertained last night entertained me!

Brick,@Jessy89, and others, did you know that Jungle Boy is the late Luke Perry's
son?

Yes, Jack Perry. He had a great match with Omega for the AEW world title the other night.

AEW is back on Wednesday nights again beginning tonight. And next week they will be on the road again for the show every week. They are coming to Charlotte on July 28.

Greatest tag teams in the history in wrestling.....among are The LOD (The Road Warriors), the Twin Towers, The Warlord/Barbarian, Earthquake & Tugboat, the Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette, the Hollywood Blondes, The New Breed (only because ring entrance song was You Gotta Fight for your Right by the Beastie Boys), Superfly Snuka & Ricky "the dragon" Steamboat, Harlem Heat, Demolition, the Skyscrapers. Honorable mention to Koko B. Ware and his bird.

Tell me yours

Great topic!
It is still early, but the Young Bucks are well on the way. Also, the Briscoe Brothers currently of ROH and the Lucha Bros currently of AEW are quite impressive.

Going back to my young days: Assassins, Minn. Wrecking Crew (Ole and Gene), Fabulous Freebirds (3 partners), and Mr. Wrestling I and II. Also, the Rock and Roll Express deserves a mention not only because hey were real good but also because the Young Bucks are modeled after them with their synchronized moves and even the tassels they used to wear on their shins.

You are right. Rock N Roll Express with their double drop kick do deserve to be on the greatest tag team's list. Back when the NWA were in these parts, the RockNRoll Express helped make that organization popular, along with The 4 Horsemen, Nikita Koloff, and the Road Warriors.

If you were in the SE, Michael Hayes & The Fabulous Freebirds were absolutely on the list too. Those guys you couldn't make them heel because people liked them anyway. They would fight anyone whether they were popular or heel, kind of like the south's version of Road Warriors.

Really wish the NWA back then would've joined forces with Mid-Atlantic and the south. Then we could've had the 4 Horsemen, Kerry Von Erich, The Fabulous Freebirds, and the early career of Lex Luger. Also lower card members such as Hands of Stone Ronnie Garvin, Hector Guerrero, Manny Fernandez, Ivan Koloff, and so many others I've forgotten.

Goldberg coming back again

Nothing against Goldberg as he was great during his heyday and to be fair AEW has as you know been doing the same with the also great Sting who is 8 years older, but WWE is trying to keep up with AEW's increased popularity. I've watched very little of WWE since AEW's Dynamite started in late 2019.

Edit: I admit that Sting appears to be in incredible shape for someone 62.

I've watched some AEW content...and it is miles better than WWE.

But oh man, it's such a far cry from the Monday night wars era. I don't think it's possible for pro wrestling to even approach that level again. Just way too much talent at just the right time with really good writing.

When it comes to Goldberg he was my favorite growing up. Now he’s lost his step and wwe is not booking him properly therefore he’s sorta stale spear jackhammer 3 minutes it’s over. I would have loved to see what aew could do with him. Could you imagine Goldberg Sting derby Allen in a alliance type thing. Be pretty cool I also heard a rumor that aew actually wanted Goldberg and to redo the 173-0 streak again. But I question rather Goldberg is able now at 54 to pull that off again. I know sting in his 60s but Goldberg gets winded easily

The problem with Goldberg (other than his downright pathetic cardio) is he's booked to show up twice a year (per his contract) and immediately demands and gets a title shot. Now in kayfabe, this seems ridiculous but this is Vince booking things after all. A real veteran should be using his status to put younger talent over, which I can't remember occurring outside of Braun beating him, but that was a consequence of Roman being out at the time. Let's never speak of the Fiend squash. I have heard zero word about AEW wanting Goldberg. I just can't see that happening ever. They already have the old WCW legend, who is still a better wrestler than Goldberg (Sting).

I'm fully in the AEW camp, and this is coming who had watched WWF/WWE/WCW since the mid-90s. The AEW talent is miles better than most WWE guys (outside of Seth, KO, Sami, AJ, and a couple others). AEW booking actually makes sense 90% of the time, and I'm OK with that. I do wish that JR would retire though. WWE is borderline unwatchable most of the time. I have turned into Raw and SD now that fans are back, but things still aren't looking so hot. See Charlotte giving the finger to the crowd for chanting 'We Want Becky' for the entirety of her title match. Even NXT seems to be struggling a bit. Regardless of how much love Triple H gives it, Vince still sees it as developmental, not a 3rd brand. See Karrion Kross, the current NXT champ getting beat by an old and is-barely-there Jeff Hardy in 5 minutes on Raw (love Jeff, booking made no sense though).

AEW pulling off Punk and Bryan would be such a major deal and I could see Dynamite pulling very close to Raw/SD in the ratings, especially once Monday Night Football returns. I'm ready to pop for a Punk debut at All Out and a Bryan debut at the NYC show in Sept. Also of note: the guy who broke the Punk/Bryan returns also says there's even a bigger surprise that's being kept a very guarded secret. I am not sure what is bigger than Punk and Bryan, maybe Brock? Once can always dream for a permanent move to AEW for Okada, Naito, or Ibushi.

Also have to mention that Tony Khan is making a major event announcement this coming Dynamite. I expect it to be a supershow with NJPW, and maybe Impact, NWA, or one of the Mexican promotions (CMLL/AAA).
Shut up and take my money | Take my money meme, Fry take my money, Take my money

TL;DR WWE booking is questionable at best and downright atrocious at worst. AEW looks to capitalize.

He put drew mIcyntire over at royal rumble. Was it a good match meh not really. But the show of respect by Goldberg at the end was awesome

I also provided the link on the story where Aew wanted Goldberg.

I had forgotten about the Drew match. I really didn't watch any of the Thunderdome era.

That website you linked is a bunch of BS. They quoted Jim Cornette on the Goldberg/AEW rumors, which is quite possibly the worst source. Cornette is a known hater of AEW (and anything else that doesn't resemble 80's wrestling). No respected dirt sheet has reported on that to my knowledge. I consider WON and Sean Ross Sapp/Fightful the top end sheets, with guys like Keller (PWTorch) and Johnson (PWInsider) a tier 2 source.

I spend way too much time on the SquaredCircle subreddit.

That maybe true. I don’t know much about reliability of wrestling thread. But anyway I shared the link because that’s where I read it. My thoughts on Goldberg is he’s just sorta having fun. Really enjoys wrestling and he’s definitely on the very tail end of his career. I expect he will hang it up for good in 2022 or 2023.

I've been speculating about AEW trying to get WWE's "Finn Balor'. Why? Because he as "Prince Devitt" was THE founder of the "Bullet Club" in May of 2013 and he got Karl Anderson, currently at AEW, and a couple of others in it immediately. Later in 2013 Gallows and the Young Bucks were added.
