As a college student myself, there's certain ways to cut corners and costs, but not everyone can do that. Having a part time job and living at home versus spending thousands a year on just housing saves money. Sure I have to commute, but gas is cheaper than a dorm. Having a scholarship to cover the tuition is helpful as well, but as mentioned, not everyone can get one. Some fees at the university are really stupid to me. I get charged hundreds for something I don't even use. I get they have to pay for things, but it starts getting ridiculous at some points. I worry for those around me who are getting student loans to cover these if they'll be able to pay for them or not just because the market will go downhill around when we graduate or will be in the gutter already.

This is just preparing you for the world after college Lol... many of us pay hundreds, thousands in taxes for things we never benefit from.

I swear, the more I read the more I realize how many dumb people are in the world. For instance, the coronavirus numbers jumped 14k with 200+ deaths added, yet. It's amazing how many morons are not reading the articles that explain why such as this one.

Whether or not China has been open with the true numbers, for weeks they have given a confirmed count and a suspected count. They pretty much just combined numbers, and morons don't read.

Personally it wouldn't surprise me if most of the deaths didnt happen in the start of the outbreak when China dropped the ball and they are slowly leaking it out with about the same numbers daily to make it appear it is just constistantly happening.

I think the deaths are accelerating because the virus has. I mean in the beginning when you had a few hundred cases they may have had enough ICU beds but as the thousands of new cases came in beds, ventilators and other life saving capacities dwindled so more people are dying.

I have to agree with you. Ive been leaning this was just severe flu like outbreak new strain. Itll be a run of mill deal and we will move on.
But starting to learn its much more contagious, way longer shelf life on handles door knobs, etc, like 21 days. Singapore is startting to have multiplying clusters now and is the place to watch. They are up to 55ish cases. The most alarming is 30 to 40 percent of those are evolving into critical condition, hospitalization . Dont beleive theyve had any deaths yet, could be wrong.
Another thing I just shrugged off as a conspiracy theory was the origin of this virus. That lab being right at center of this big outbreak. Turns out I read very detailed article of 2 current employes who where at UNC somewhere doing this same testing ,crossing over these coronovirus with bats etc. That funding shut down a year or 2 ago and both are now employed, doing research at this lab in epi center of outbreak. It was a very detailed article. Cant figure out why on earth we need to risk doing this kind of research, purpose. This lab has a terrible track record of accidents in its past, well documented.
Anyway you just dont shut down these massive metro areas, your economy for over a month + without knowing something more than is being let on. Theres way more to this than we know and Chinas staunch refussal to let cdc , who till like a day or so ago , come in help assess, is a major red flag.

Well atleast China isnt fighting the coronovirus like North Korea.
They just took the poor soul outside and shot him for not following quarentine protocol.

So far deaths really haven’t accelerated. Pretty much ticked up in unison with the infection rate. I think the big bump yesterday had somewhere around 100 deaths that day and the rest are retroactively added using the new criteria.

Ok I hadn't heard that but it makes sense.

Pay attention to this. Says exactly what I've been thinking regarding the upcoming election should a certain someone get the democratic nomination.

I hope Bernie does win the nomination because Doc Brown will drive the Democrat party into the ground attempting to stop him. Trump will win in a historic landslide not to mention taking both chambers of congress. America is not going to vote in a socialist no matter how he rebrands it

And this is why headlines shouldn’t be shortened. LOL

If young folks want free healthcare and education so bad, I can help you out with that......Go down to your local recruiters office and tell them you are ready to serve in an adventure of a lifetime!

Or go find a job too. Many employers offer opportunities to get discounted or free healthcare and offer career advancement that will help pay the cost for a certain field of study that aligns with that business. If you get a high paying job too then you can afford healthcare and pay off the student loan debt too. It amazes me how many people simply haven't been taught fiscal responsibility. The problem isn't just with young folks though, our political leaders aren't fiscally responsible and need to do something about the $20+ Trillion in debt we have.

Travel to faraway and exotic lands, meet a variety of individuals, then learn how to shoot them. LOL. Hey, we did it. If it was good enough for us, it’s good enough for them.

It would certainly change their perspective on freedom and just how fortunate we are to live in this great country.

Whether or not China is lying about numbers, I believe they think they have it beat. I figured this was the case when they decided to throw in those extra cases.

I'm sure wherever you get your news is the correct, unbiased version of what you want to see and hear......

This is why I read BBC world news. At least I’m not getting a slant from ultra liberal American media journalists or ultra conservative American media journalists.

Yeah one of the biggest talking points of his supporters was how could it be QPQ if Ukraine didnt even know the money was withheld.

As.we are learning from the unredacted OMB emails they knew early on. There was a congressional delegation in Ukraine in early august. They were apparently asked by Ukraine why the hold and the delegation began asking questions to OMB. OMB was trying to sell them a story.

The anti fake news crowd got sold a big pile of fake news and lies from the trump admin and his media lackeys and they drank the koolaid like they had been walking in the desert for 2 days with no water.

Daily Mail story. Seen this posted in other articles as well. Link is off Drudge if you want to read whoke article.

Beijing-sponsored South China University of Technology concludes that 'the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan'
It points to research on bats and respiratory diseases carried by the animals at the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and the Wuhan Institute of Virology
WCDC is just 300 yards from the seafood market and is adjacent to the hospital

Well now I wonder if the research facility was working with anything weaponized (to use against hong kong) based on the incubation times I've heard. Then, I also wonder if the bat was sold or escaped to the market. If not the bat itself, if the human went to the market and handled raw food infected.

Ew @ the whole thing.

The research angle is much more plausible than the bio-weapon angle. Who would design a bio-weapon that really attacks Asian people more than ethnicities of other nations?

Then again if you could design a bio weapon that would devestate a city and then quickly start adapting to a much less severe form it may escape detection. It would make sense on why the problems with this in Hubei is much worse than anywhere else.

Well one thing we see since the corona virus is no protests or anything.....that movement has been shut down..hmmmm. Optics and power are very important. My Lysol cans includes corona virus....Whole thing is fishy. Timing suspicious of course too. Population control is a thing. Bill Gates has talked about it.....
And yesterdays NASCAR was just awesome. President Trump and family are awesome. For the people. I can't believe how busy these people are. I'm exhausted after going to Walmart, Tractor Supply and Ingles. They go go go all the time. Non stop. What a patriotic movement going on. Great time to be alive. ??????

Sure hope all that was sarcasm.

Just heard on the news that all US coronavirus confirmed patients from the cruise ship have shown no symptoms. If that is true, this virus will be everywhere. We may never know it if 99% of cases have no symptoms or mild cold like symptoms, but it is very interesting.

Could the common cold at one time been very deadly for a short period before adapting to a much weaker form?

Agree.....Trade / 2 year tech schools seem to be making a comeback. They should be a priority. I just cant feel sorry for somebody with 6 figure debt majoring in something worthless to society
Imo Trade/tech schools is were it's at. Everyday I install more robotics on the factory floor unskilled labor is almost gone job wise.

Very interesting, a little over 300 of the 600 or so coronavirus confirmed people that came off the cruise ship do not have any symptoms. I wonder if this is already spreading across the US with people thinking it's just a cold.
Yes

I heard the most plausible reason why the death rate in Wohan is so much higher than the rest of the world. On a news radio show yesterday they interviewed a DR and Professor at Wake Forest who is in Wohan. He said they have seen lots of cross contamination in the hospital where many patients have the coronavirus and the flu together. That would be really rough.

The death rate is around 2.3%, compared to about 0.1% for the common flu. It also has a pretty high serious complication rate of around 15 to perhaps as high as 20%. We know China is under reporting the numbers, probably significantly so. The combination of a very high number of cases and the fact that at least 15% of those require significant medical intervention, vastly strains resources and prevents many of those from getting the care they need to survive.

We'll really start to gain a lot more clarity around these things when cases really ramp up in places like Japan and Singapore. My guess is that as infectious as this thing is, many, many people are going to be carrying it around simultaneously. This is going to put a strain on any healthcare system, resulting in diminishing care and higher CFRs.

Let's just hope it doesn't mutate and become more virulent and/or more infectious.
