It’s been mentioned before but it bears repeating. What is often overlooked is how socialists planned over a century ago to slowly overtake western society through our educational system, especially higher education. That has long since been achieved and now we are seeing the fruit of it.

Yep. We are creating a dangerous society right now where cops are going to be hesitant to do their job.

I think we're there now. Baltimore was a good test the last couple of years. Police will become re-active, not pro-active. I'm really hoping all this calms down in the coming months. But if this is a new norm, with police having to double think, many urban areas will become more dangerous. Many on the far left will say more social workers will help bring down the crime or confrontations. That could help, but police also need to react accordantly when crime occurs.

So you’re not going to “cry” over a place being burned down that potentially has underprivileged people working there and making a living and now they don’t have a job, further leading to income gap and inequality. That’s sad my friend. Racism doesn’t just fit into the box you’re trying to put it in.

I agree there needs to be some reform and heck even "talks". But I'm worried about pushing the "change" too far in one direction. The pendulum of change is somewhere in the middle (..different sides for different perspectives). Right now, we don't want it to go to far left; whereas we lose the effectiveness of our police to keep us safe. **that's happening now.

Please define how there is “systemic” and “institutional” racism? I’m really tired of hearing this, because in my view it is not accurate. Is there racism in our society? Sure. But is everything everywhere racist? I don’t think so. There’s got to be a better way for us to move forward in my opinion.

They pay starvation wages that would require most to work full time more than twice over each week to afford a decent apartment in most areas. 2153 billionaires own more wealth than the bottom half of the world. I doubt a few fast food jobs will impact that much. If you want to solve that issue, you need to end the fact that billionaires are allowed to exist in the first place.

The fact you just made that statement speaks volumes about the entitled life you lived. You are out of touch with millions of Americans including myself who work our tails off. I dare you to tell those Wendy's workers that their job site burning down would impact much.

Kid this is how I know you haven't worked a day in your life.

If you actually took the time to think about the situation and remove the emotional outrage from the response, you probably would cry that jobs are being lost and lives are being ruined, all over the country -- many of whom are the victims of what you claim to be fighting against.

These consequences that you're ok with as just some weird collateral damage that serves a greater good is no better at all than saying a few black folks getting unjustly murdered by a few bad cops is just the price you pay for the greater good of law and order in our society. It's a sad commentary on where we are as a country today, in terms of our collective ability to think and reason.

And it's really a shame that this has to be spelled out.

Are you sure about that? I have worked plenty and still do. Wendy's should do the right thing and take care of those workers. Target managed to do that in Minneapolis.

I never said it didn't suck that jobs are being lost to this, COVID-19, and everything else. I am just saying when people are driven to a breaking point there will unfortunately be incidents like this. The pandemic is likely a catalyst in that it amplifies every societal inequality and then the police violence was the spark that set off a waiting powder keg. I am not saying rioting is the right approach but I understand why it happens. I think Wendy's should take care of those workers and I do feel bad for them. I also feel they are deserving of a living wage like everyone else.

Ok, but we should come out and categorically denounce this kind of behavior. Maybe Wendy's can take care of these employees for a bit, but businesses shouldn't be expected to make up for this kind of activity. And many simply can't.

The large majority of truckers that would actually organize together are already in unions that will never allow this to happen. This is why the threat of truckers shutting down the Beltway a couple years ago was so laughable.
 
Just saw on MSNBC that Wendy's should have called a tow truck instead of the police to get the car moved. Hmmmmmmmm... A tow truck driver would have to call the police to get the driver out of the car before the towing. No wonder we're in the mess that we are in. Trash like this being spewed on the news.
