He had it coming and he was a very evil man. I mean he even killed many of his own people (Persians) who were never supporting the Mullah leadership. So the world is much better off with him dead and he deserved to be killed. But perhaps he should have been killed in a more covert manner (CIA) to leave Iran guessing and thus not elicit such a strong emotional response against the US from Iran. Many of Trumps advisers advised against Trump doing it this way, but Trump listens to hardly anyone because he has to have his own way (like a stubborn child).
Per my longtime Iranian friend, a large majority of Iranian citizens has always been supportive of the US and against the Mullah leadership because these folks are Persian and for the most part are NOT religious Muslims. They liked the secular Shah. But my friend was very surprised about the huge crowds at the funeral. Remember that he has killed many Iranians. He was an enemy to them. He thinks that many folks not supporting him were forced to go to his funeral. But he's now also worried that the assassination may have caused some of these pro-American Persians to get emotional and become supportive of their govt for fear that the assassination represented an attack on their country. He's confused right now as to exactly what is going on. Had this assassination been done covertly, there wouldn't be this same risk of these pro-American Iranian citizens losing their support for the US and Iran attacking.
Regardless, hopefully these reports that there were no Americans killed is true.
