Nice area of thundersnow/thundersleet in the panhandles.
Currently 34, windy, and drizzling. This is my type of morning!
That band to my southwest heading my way is really producing a lot of lightning. Might try to get some lightning pictures as it approaches. I also would not be surprised to see sleet here when it arrives.

Damn a thunderstorm at 35F, that’s some epic cold rain!
Almost a nonstop light show out there right now. I think we’re seeing some occasional sleet as well.
Moderate sleet coming down now. Lots of lightning/thunder!

Somewhere in my parents house is a video my a Dad made of thunder sleet we had during the February 1996 Ice Storm in North Carolina. It was the most amazing thing to watch. It was truly a thunderstorm storm with a very heavy downpour, only it was ice pellets falling. It lasted over on hour and it piled up almost 2 inches. The temperature also dropped during that time from 31 to 22 and flash froze puddles in the yard from the freezing rain that had fallen all day.
I remember we had 2 ice storms in the mid 90s with thundersleet/freezing rain. Good times
Just hit 32. This is where the ice storm begins. Crazy how persistent the lightning has been. Not as frequent now, but still some every few minutes.
Have completely changed over to sleet now. It’s even starting to accumulate a bit. More thunder as well. Honestly walking outside in sleet feels so much better then cold rain.
Grounds turning white!
I may be crazy, but I swear I see the tiniest of snowflakes mixing in with the sleet now.
