If we could get some ridging over Alaska, we would be in better shape in December most likely. Trough in Alaska pretty much offsets the -nao imo

The Euro weeklies had the best snow mean yet!
18Z still has the parts for a nice pattern ahead with a strong block, also with a nice 50/50 low in place. So the GFS is starting to see a negative NAO, but the poor model just does not know what to do with it, bless its little heart.

There’s definitely some players on the field with that look. I wonder what would happen if you took away the GFS’s progressive bias on this

Gotta feeling this ski season is gonna be a hit at least early on…dry yes but plenty of cold air to make snow BEFORE the holidays. Moderate drought over Charlotte.
