Decent amount of options on the table right now with the ridge in AK, you can see how the ridge location/amplitude makes a huge difference on the SE. We are going to toy with this ridge in some fashion for at least the next 30-45 days maybe a little longer. Buckle up

Sheesh we know where the GFS wants to break off and move the TPV over the next month .. that could put us in the freezer with one little spark

Of course don’t like the daunting SER lurking in the water but if we can maintain some decent blocking that should help keep her at bay for now … of course in a La Niña we’re always going to see the SER lurking and we know it’ll pounce at any opportunity it gets the chance to overtake things

That’s what I like to see right there. Decent looking overall pattern for New Mexico, just a tad north for my liking. Negative NPO and GOA ridge with a trough digging southward along the US west coast, just need it to dig a little more towards the Int’l Border and the northern Mexico states of Chihuahua + Sonora
