This ridiculous model spread at 96 hr is very on brand for Rex Blocking regimes like this. Rex blocking is usually synonymous with medium range uncertainty
I'm gonna be disappointed when this doesn't happen. Latest from GSP
Temperatures continue to fall or hold steady this hour
as daytime heating somewhat offsets strong cold air advection across
the region. We are seeing snow bands beginning to organize upstream
across the Ohio Valley with what appears to be a Great Lakes fetch
based on the latest satellite. This lines up well with the ongoing
forecast which has increasing snow coverage across the mountains
late this afternoon into the evening hours. Per earlier discussion,
did decide to add a slight chance of showers for a narrow corridor
mainly east of Greenville extending across the north SC upstate for
early this evening. If the spotty showers do develop, steep lapse
rates could support brief mixing with or changing over to snow, with
no accumulations expected

Changed the title to reflect today and tomorrow. Going to start a new thread for the weekend
Not surprised was talking about this earlier. I wouldn’t rule out upstate SC Friday morning either if we trend in the right direction. I think WWA for light glaze for Avery/Watauga/Ashe.

Based off how things look right now I would say that flurries/ snow showers may grain in Atlanta and surrounding areas around 4-6 PM.
To avoid anyone missing out on monthly threads going forward we will let the members name the monthly thread but the thread will be made by someone on staff so it is visible to all.
